Our youth are hard at work preparing for this year’s Christmas musical, Shepherds, Sheep, and a Savior! We can’t wait to share this special celebration of the birth of Jesus with our church family!

What if the things we’re doing to fix our problems are actually making them worse?

In his two-part sermon series, Spiritually Blind, Pastor Andy explored how spiritual blindness can distort our understanding, influence our decisions, and even cause us to multiply the very problems we’re trying to solve.

Just like the Cobra Effect, we sometimes create solutions that make matters worse. We avoid conflict instead of pursuing peace. We hide our struggles instead of seeking help. We trust our own understanding instead of turning to God’s Word.

But there’s good news! Spiritual blindness doesn’t have to be the end of the story.

In Acts 13:6–12, deception was confronted, truth prevailed, and God opened eyes to the gospel.

The same God is still at work today.

So here’s a question worth praying this week:

“Lord, show me where I am breeding cobras. Open my eyes to Your truth.”

We had a great time at our fall festival last night with around 300 attendees. We are so thankful for all our volunteers in helping make this event a great success.

If God is good, why does He judge sin?

It’s a question worth asking.

Scripture teaches us that God is perfectly holy, righteous, and just. Because He is good, He does not ignore evil or treat sin as though it doesn’t matter.

But God’s response to sin also reveals something remarkable about His character: He is merciful.

When Adam and Eve sinned, God did not abandon His plan for humanity. Even as He pronounced judgment, He promised a future victory over the serpent.

And through Jesus Christ, God has provided the way for sinners to receive forgiveness and reconciliation.

God’s justice reminds us of the seriousness of sin. His mercy reminds us of the depth of His love.

Sin is more than simply doing something wrong.

When we think about sin, we often think of specific actions—lying, stealing, dishonesty, or disobedience.

But Scripture reveals that sin goes much deeper.

Sin is rebellion against God. It’s choosing our own desires over His will, placing created things above our Creator, and failing to live according to His good design.

And sin isn’t limited to the wrong things we do. It also includes the good things we fail to do.

Romans 3:23 reminds us that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

Understanding sin helps us recognize why we need a Savior.

The problem of sin is universal. But so is the invitation to turn to God through Jesus Christ.
