Church family and friends. Bible Study will be canceled this evening to allow the family to set up for the funeral of Carl Cole. Carl was a very important part of Brush Creek Baptist Church history. He was saved here when he was 13. Please feel free to attend the services tomorrow.

Mugwort, a w**d, seemingly thriving as it grows out of the asphalt. What an unlikely environment for life to exist. How is it possible for a plant to take root and grow in this condition? It’s not, it’s the rhizome that gives it life. The unseen source of nourishment and care hidden underground. The root system that makes it possible for our little Mugworts to survive. Without the rhizome they have no chance. The Gospel works very much the same way. You might look at a person and think what a hopeless, desolate situation. This person is evil, a murderer, a ra**st, a cheater, a sinner….which at some point we all are or still are. Romans 3:23 says “for all have sinned, and come short of the Glory of God” This is the beauty of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He offers hope to the desolate and hopeless allowing an opportunity to thrive where once there was no hope. If we compare ourselves to the Mugwort, we too are hopeless without the rhizome. The rhizome of the true vine of Jesus Christ. He forgives us, he washes us, he cleanses us and most importantly he sustains us. “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin” 1 John 1:7.
We too have an opportunity to thrive in the asphalt of a dark and desolate world as we remain firmly attached to the savior. The Gospel knows no limitations, no sin you have committed can ever overcome the blood of Christ. His blood overcomes all. “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world” John 16:33. We would love for you to join us at Brush Creek Baptist Church. 10:AM on Sunday Mornings. Founded in 1869 but alive and well in 2026. “Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;” 1 Peter 5:2.

Join us this Sunday May 10th at 10:AM for Mothers Day! In 1 Samuel 1:10-11 we are introduced to a wife, Hannah, who is barren and desperately wants to be a mother. She prays a prayer and makes a vow before the Lord.

“And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed unto the Lord, and wept sore.
And she vowed a vow, and said, O Lord of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me, and not forget thine handmaid, but wilt give unto thine handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto the Lord all the days of his life, and there shall no razor come upon his head.”
God answers her prayer and Samuel is born. The final judge and the first major prophet of Israel.
Isaiah 66:13 says “As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you; and ye shall be comforted in Jerusalem.” Hannah was then blessed with 3 more sons and two daughters. Come celebrate Mothers with us! 3262 Fawcett Road Peebles Ohio 45660.

Please join us Sunday morning April 5th ! Easter is about so much more than bunnies, eggs, candy and the beginning of Spring. Easter is all about new life. It is a time to worship the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who came to this earth over two thousand years ago to willingly sacrifice His life on the cross for the sins of mankind. He was buried, the on the third day, He rose from the grave conquering sin and death. His death on the cross satisfied the payment God required for mans sin, and his resurrection promises new life for all who place their faith in Him. True life, eternal life, can only be found in a relationship with Jesus Christ. Jesus said, "I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live" (John 11:25). Jesus also said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me" (John14:6). Do you know him? Would you like to know more about him?
