Acolytes light the altar candles at the beginning of the service symbolizing Christ's presence in the worship service. When leaving, acolytes take a lit taper from the candles to carry the light back out into the world, symbolizing that believers share Jesus's message everywhere. For those interested in being an Acolyte, please contact Justine Baron,[email protected]. This is for students, 8 years and older. Training will be Wednesday, September 16th during small groups (7pm). You will receive your Acolyte trianing certificate and be able to assist in worship service!

ONE people. ONE worship. ONE church.
Last week, we shared a little of the dreaming that has been happening at PUMC—and on Sunday, we finally got to share the news:
Beginning September 13, we will gather for ONE worship service each Sunday at 9:30 a.m.! This isn’t simply about putting two services together. It’s about making room for something new. More of us in the same room. More opportunities to know one another. More generations worshiping together. More stories shared. More laughter. More connection. More opportunities to welcome, encourage, and care for one another. And ultimately, more of Jesus.

Because we believe church is at its best when we aren’t separated into groups of “us” and “them,” but when we become ONE people—learning to love one another, make room for one another, and live out the way of Jesus together.

So, onSeptember 13, we’re going to try something new.
ONE service. ONE table. ONE family. ONE church.
And we can’t wait to see what God does with all of us together.

Join us for a trip to the Henry County Museum of Missouri in Clinton, Missouri on Thursday, September 17th. The bus will leave the church around 9:30am and return around 2;45. Cost is $8.00 for the museum plus lunch at Mallard’s Roadhouse on the way home. All are welcome! Please let Linda Pierson know if you are going to attend!
