"That's just how it is."
"You just have to believe."
"Don't ask so many questions."

But faith was never meant to be that small.
Bring the questions you were told to leave at the door.

Your identity was never meant to ride an elevator. When Christ is your foundation, who you are doesn't change with your circumstances.

Nobody objected when Isaac was small. They only moved when he got too big to ignore.

Rev. Dr. Dominique A. Robinson preached from Genesis 26 this past Sunday and said something that landed hard: "Everybody celebrates growth until growth disrupts the status quo." Think about that. The same Philistines who watched Isaac plant during famine, watched him reap a hundredfold, watched him thrive — those same people stuffed his wells with dirt the moment his blessing stopped being convenient for them.

If you've ever felt support quietly turn into resistance the moment you started winning, this sermon was preached for you.

Pastor Kaloma Smith's impact doesn't stop at the church doors. It's in this community.
He relaunched a 100-year-old church and made it matter to Palo Alto again: a voice for justice, a room for the displaced, a shepherd who shows up for this city, not just this congregation.

This Sunday, we celebrate him: his birthday, and the years of service behind it.
He shows up for this community every day. Sunday, the community shows up for him.

If flawed parents can forgive imagine our Father in heaven.
Think about the moment you took your child back. After the thing they said. After the choices they made. After everything. You didn't plan to forgive it, you just did. Pastor Kaloma Smith asked Sunday: where did that grace come from?
You got it from God. Because if we know how to show that kind of grace to our own children, how much more does our Father in heaven show grace to His?
You are still His. That hasn't changed.
