Guest Speaker and Center for Spiritual Life News
Sunday, October 18, 2015 - Guest Speaker: Brynn Saito
Brynn Saito has been our director for the "Center for Spiritual Life" which has created new opportunities for the exploration and expression of spirituality for members and friends of the church. It has truly been an unique and expressive experience for many.
Through this experience, Brynn herself is now considering and beginning the process to be an ordained United Methodist Deacon. A "Deacon" is an ordained minister of the United Methodist Church which specializes in a particular area that helps bridge the church with the world. Unlike an Elder (Rev. Roger is an elder), the UM Deacon is not assigned/guaranteed a church pastorate. For Brynn, being a Deacon will create a bridge between the many worlds and identities she inhabits: Poet, Writer, Director of The California Institute of Integral Studies Writing Center, Professor, OM participant and Director of the Center for Spiritual Life.
As part of Brynn's development in the ordination process, she will be preaching periodically at the church. This Sunday, October 18th, her sermon topic will be "Spirituality and Resiliency". Come out and be a part of Brynn's process as she shares the Word from the pulpit!
