Much love and nachas for and on the Simchat Bat of their daughter Rivkah Natanya! If you’ve ever met Hannah and Jacob, you know they exemplify raising their children for a life of Torah, chuppah, and maasim tovim. We are so fortunate to have the Katz Hjelmaas family as part of our KI community 💕

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Yom HaShoah movie screening of Nuremberg (2025). It was a powerful film, and we are grateful to those who shared the experience with us. Special thanks goes to our staff who helped make this event possible, and our Rabbi for his impactful opening remarks.

Women’s Circle this Saturday. Don’t miss it! More about the topic: The commandment of Shabbat first appeared when the Israelites left slavery and began forming a new kind of society. In a world that rewarded constant labor, the Torah introduced a radical idea: once every week, we stop. Shabbat invites us to step out of productivity, commerce, and endless responsibility, and enter a space of menuchah—deep rest for body, mind, and soul. Yet stopping is not always easy. Many of us struggle with the demands of work, technology, family obligations, and the feeling that everything depends on us. This conversation explores what Shabbat is meant to be, the challenges we face in keeping it, and the small practices that have helped each of us protect this sacred pause. Together we consider what it means to find the courage to stop.
