Our middle school students and leaders departed this morning at 3:30 AM for Rainbow Trail Lutheran Camp in Colorado this week. As they spend time in God’s creation, build friendships, and grow in faith, please keep them in your prayers and ask God to bless them with safe travels, meaningful experiences, and a deeper connection to Christ.

THIS SUNDAY, Holy Cross is pleased to welcome National Parks expert Mikah Meyer. Mikah is passionate about exploring diverse outdoor spaces and helping people of all backgrounds find joy and shared connection through a love of nature.

He is the creator of the Outside Safe Space symbol—featured in park gift shops and retailers like REI—which is worn by more than 100,000 people nationwide as a quiet sign of welcome and LGBTQ+ allyship in outdoor and rural spaces.

For the month of June, Holy Cross is collecting cleaning and paper products for two organizations. JoCo Developmental Supports & Hollis Renewal Center.

JoCo Developmental Supports is an agency of Johnson County Government that facilitates career and personal development for Johnson County residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities. 

Hollis Renewal Center provides a welcoming environment and experience for individuals and groups seeking spiritual growth and renewal. In other words...All guests are extended Christian hospitality, because all are welcome at Hollis. It is where Holy Cross will host Summer Day Camp in July.

Both organizations are requesting the following: 
• Scrubbing Products (Sponges, rags, Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, etc.) 
• Dish soap 
• Laundry detergent 
• Countertop & bathroom cleaners 
• Paper towels, toilet paper & kleenex 
• Clorox wipes 
• Plastic spoons (no forks or knives) 
• NO floor cleaning products

Please bring your donations to the collection bin just inside the front doors of the church.

Have you noticed how lovely the church landscaping looks lately? Lori Haberman-Wilson has been doing a wonderful job planting flowers and caring for our outdoor spaces—what a gift to our community!

She could use a few extra hands to help with weeding and general upkeep. If you enjoy being outside, getting your hands in the dirt, or simply want to lend a hand, we’d love your help. Being a caregiver can be exhausting, frustrating, and heartbreaking. This is an opportunity to meet with others who have similar feelings and experiences. This group will meet for conversation and mutual support from 10:30 – 11:30 AM in meeting room 1. June meeting dates are Monday, June 1 and June 15.

In celebration of KC Pride, on Sunday, June 7 Holy Cross is pleased to welcome Mikah Meyer, as guest preacher. There will only be 9:00 Traditional and 10:30 Modern services that day. Raised as a Lutheran preacher’s kid in the flat state of Nebraska (Larry Meyer, Campus Pastor at University of Nebraska-Lincoln 1989-2005), Mikah is passionate about exploring all types of outdoor locations and helping people of divergent backgrounds find joy and common ground through their shared love of nature.

A new summer study starts tomorrow! John’s Gospel can be confusing. Jesus doesn’t help the situation by using several "I am..." statements. This class helps make sense of it all!
