When Feelings Lead, We Follow
"I like this, so I do it. I don't like that, so I won't." It sounds harmless, but our feelings have become disordered. Because of original sin, we often love what harms us and resist what is good for us. The intellect is darkened, the feelings are pulled the wrong way, and the will is weak, so even when we know the right thing, we struggle to do it. If we simply let our feelings rule, they lead us down the broad and easy road to destruction. Feelings make a terrible master, but with grace they can become a good servant.
Where have your feelings been steering you away from what you know is good?
