Presiding Bishop Yehiel Curry has released a statement on the shooting at the Islamic Center of San Diego.

“As the ELCA, we must speak plainly: violence rooted in hatred is sin. We condemn Islamophobia and acknowledge its rise in recent years. Our church affirms that “anti-Muslim hatred is antithetical to our Christian faith” (A Declaration of the ELCA to the Muslim Community), for we are called to love our neighbor in ways that cast out fear (1 John 4:18).”

Kidz Connect was such a fun (and busy!) night! We started by practicing our beautiful song that the kids will be performing this Sunday, April 26th during the worship service, we’d love for you to join us!
We’ll also be celebrating the end of both Sunday School and Kidz Connect for the school year with refreshments afterward, so stick around!
The kids then wrapped up the covers of their candy-themed junk journals they’ve been working on all session. We are so impressed.. what a creative and crafty group! Their books turned out absolutely beautiful.
Next week is our Family Game Night, and then we’ll see everyone again next school year!

The kids at Kidz Connect were all smiles and laughter as we celebrated our Laffy Taffy theme night! 🍬😄 Jokes were shared, and giggles filled the room.
But beyond the laughter, we talked about something important: sometimes people may laugh at us or leave us out, but Jesus never does. He invites everyone, even the children, to come to Him, just as they are, and reminds us how deeply we are loved.
When we understand His love, we can share it with others, just like it says in Matthew 19:13–15.
