Welcome, neighbors and followers of Christ. Come and hear the call to worship.
We are called into fellowship, worship, and service, called to celebrate and share the good news of God’s love.
Come and be renewed. Find overflowing joy.
Let the abundant joy of our worship spill over into our communities.
Grow your compassion as you receive the Word proclaimed.
Let our compassion and love increase among us.
Let our hearts and minds be open to hearing the call of discipleship, the call to serve God in heart, body, and mind.
Let us worship today in heart, body, and mind. Let us be transformed by the good news of God’s love! Amen.

*Opening Hymn of Praise: “Lord, Whose Love Through Humble Service” - Pg. 581

Words of Assurance: ~ Brad Hamilton
Jesus blessed the peacemakers and called them “children of God.” When we share peace on this planet, we are doing the work of God. We are God’s hands and feet of peace. We will be sure to share the peace of Christ with your neighbors, family, and friends. May the peace of Christ be with you.

Congregational Prayer: ~ In Unison ~
Loving God, you call us to a life of service, generosity, and sharing resources. In Jesus, you remind us that the harvest is plenty, but the laborers are few. You promise to make us fishers of people.
You call us to feed, clothe, and visit one another in prison. When we stray from community, when we face tough obstacles, when our independence turns into loneliness, you remind us we need each other. You remind us we were made to be Christ to each other. As we gather today in worship and celebrate those who have given their time, abilities, and presence to serve our community, inspire us to press further into service. Call us into generosity of spirit, so that we might see what happens when your people serve alongside one another to bring love and justice to the earth. Amen.

THE GREAT THANKSGIVING
Prayer of Confession before Communion:
~ In Unison~
O Lord, Our Strength and Redeemer, we thank you for the example of Jesus, who perfectly followed your will, even unto death on a cross. As we partake in this communion, we are reminded of His obedience and His love for you and for us. We desire to follow your will for our lives too, Father. But we confess, Lord, that sometimes your path is hard, and we feel weak. Sometimes we don’t know which way to go or we are afraid of what you might ask of us. We pray for the strength and courage to say “yes” to you, just as Jesus did. Fill us with your Holy Spirit, and give us wisdom to understand your plans. Help us to put aside our own selfish desires and to seek your kingdom first. Give us the power to overcome temptations and to stand firm in our faith, no matter what challenges come our way. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
