Thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hi at Nihon Matsuri this weekend. Whether you were an old friend or someone we just met… whether you came to talk about faith, the festival, tai chi classes, bonsai lessons, or just to grab a lollipop… we genuinely enjoyed meeting every one of you!

We hope you’ll stick around and learn more about life, joy, and community in our tiny little church. We may be small, but we’re full of heart.

Thank you to everyone who came to Taco Tuesday this week!

We served more than 80 free meals, met new neighbors, and had a great time with our friends from Los Churros del Norte.

If we just met you, welcome. We’re glad you’re here.

We’re a tiny PC(USA)/United Church of Christ church in downtown Ogden. Our worship is hybrid, and our roots come from the Japanese American community that founded us. We’re also a Matthew 25 congregation, which means we try to follow Jesus by caring for others.

So what does that look like?

It means we worship with about a dozen people each week, both in person and online, from different states and countries. We may be small, but we’re close. We text each other, we check in during the week, and we actually enjoy spending time together.

We honor the traditions of our founders, and we also celebrate the many cultures that make up our church today. Our worship is in English, but our mochi recipes have been passed down for generations.

Most of all, being a Matthew 25 church means we affirm every person and try to serve our community with love. That’s our calling.

If you want to learn more about what worship looks like in a tiny, welcoming church, come say hi. We’d love to chat over cake, coffee, or whatever brings people together.
