Community Restoration Worship Center Pastor: Elder Shannon Robinson
First Lady: Myisha Robinson

Service: Sunday 10 am Wednesday 6 pm Blair, M.C. Lewis, J. C. Clark, W. Robinson.

A few families came to Harlem Heights (Oak Hill, WV) in the early 1940s in search of better
employment and housing. After settling in their jobs and homes, the next thought on their minds was a place of worship lead by Reverends Earnest Austin and Sam Williams. The history of those early years of the church was obtained through oral interviews of some of the members of the church and community. Si

nce then, the church has been served by fourteen (14) pastors: Reverends Sam Williams, Jessie Jackson, J.L. Balling, David Powell, Carl Boggs, Stanley Blanks, Henry Moore, David McDowell, Kenneth Thompson, Elder Craig Dorsey, and our present Pastor, Elder Shannon A. Elder Robinson has been a part of this church long before he began his calling as Pastor. As a
child, he performed many jobs here at the church, including cutting the grass. As an adult, he accepted the offer to guest speak at many of the church’s functions. Little did anyone know the Lord would call him back home to Oak Hill to accept the role as Pastor of what is now the Community Restoration Worship Center in May 2013. We are so grateful for the Lord has blessed our church in so many ways. Through his will, we have begun remodeling on our kitchen, establish the Passion for Praise dance team, and most importantly, brought many souls back to the Lord. The Congregation has grown so much that we have also started our Wednesday night Bible study and also undergone a name change from Community Baptist Church to Community Restoration Worship Center. We continue to look to Him for guidance and to pray that the spirit of our early church organizers can still be felt. When you come to CRWC you are not a visitor, you are family. Come visit the “Big Church on the Little Hill!”

Today’s Scripture: There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven.” Luke 21:11

Keep the Negativity Out

Jesus says that in the last days there will be wars and rumors of war, great epidemics, earthquakes, and famines. With so much negativity in the world today, many people are afraid and even panicked. But don’t give in to your fears. I know that some of the threats are real, but don’t let that get in you. Don’t talk gloom and doom and how bad it is. A ship doesn’t sink because of water around it. It can be surrounded by hundreds of miles of water on every side, but the water is not a problem. It’s when the ship lets what’s on the outside come inside that’s a problem. If you constantly take in the negativity around you, you’re going to sink, so to speak.

Now choose to live from a place of faith, not a place of fear. When you’re in peace, that’s a position of power. When you know God is in control, you’re going to be strong. You’re going to feel a force sustaining you. God’s promise is that no weapon formed against you will ever prosper.

Prayer For Today:
“Father, thank You that I can shut the door to the negativity that comes against me and keep what You have promised and said about me close to my heart. Thank You that none of today’s gloom and doom need move me. I declare that my hope and expectancy is in You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Today’s Scripture: John 2:9–10, NLT When the master of ceremonies tasted the water that was now wine...he called the bridegroom over. "A host always serves the best wine first," he said... "But you have kept the best until now!"

Your Water Into Wine

Making wine normally is a very lengthy process, but to make the best quality wine, a wine that is aged, takes years. My point is that the first miracle Jesus ever performed, the making of wine from water at the wedding at Cana, was a miracle of acceleration. What in the natural took many years, He did in a moment of time. You may think it’s going to take years to get well, years to get out of debt, years to accomplish a dream, but don’t rule out the God of acceleration. He has favor, healing, and breakthroughs that can propel you forward. God can take what should take you twenty years and get you there in an instant. Right now, He’s working behind the scenes gathering the water jars and filling them with water. The process has already started. Suddenly, things are going to change. Suddenly, you’re going to find yourself where you could not go on your own. God knows how to turn your water into wine.

Prayer for Today
Father, thank You that You have the power to take a natural process like making wine and accelerate it in an instant. Thank You that You can take what seems like it could take years to happen and suddenly turn it around for me. I believe that You’re filling the jars with water even now. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Today’s Scripture: He said to His disciples, “Offenses will certainly come.” Luke 17:1

Release It

It’s impossible to live with people, and especially your family, and they not hurt your feelings, disappoint you, say things that they shouldn’t. If you let the offenses in, let that poison in, live sour and revengeful, holding a grudge, thinking about what they did, you’re wasting your emotional energy. That’s energy you’re not going to have for your dreams, to love your children, to enjoy your spouse.

You have to understand that some people will lash out at you, be disrespectful, and say things that hurt your feelings because they haven’t dealt with their own hurts and wounds and are bitter and angry. But what they say or how they treat you doesn’t determine who you are. The next time someone offends you, you have to say, “God, I forgive them, and I’m not going to dwell on it. I’m putting all my energies into what’s ahead and not into what’s behind.” If you get into this habit of forgiving quickly, it won’t take root. The best thing you can do is release it. Let it go and keep moving forward.

Prayer For Today:
“Father, thank You that I can forgive and release others from past offenses and hurts. Thank You that I can drop whatever it is and let it go, knowing You will make things right. I declare that I am leaving any offenses in Your hands and moving forward. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Today’s Scripture: For we who have believed enter that rest. Hebrews 4:3, ESV

Leave It Alone

Sometimes we feel guilty if we’re not doing everything to make something change, to make our finances or health improve, or to get our child back on course. But the Scripture says that those who have believed enter into rest. It’s okay to leave it alone. Give yourself permission to rest, to not worry about it, to not strive. You’ve done your part, now take your hands off. It’s not going to happen by your might to force it, by your power to control it, or by your intellect to manipulate it. It’s going to be the hand of God. He is saying, “Leave it alone. Trust Me to handle it. I’m going to bring the right person, turn your business around, change your child, restore your health.” When you turn it over to Him, it takes the pressure off. You can live in peace, knowing that God’s got this. He’s in control. When it comes time for things to change, all the forces of darkness cannot stop what God has for you. The question is, Will you trust Him while you’re waiting?

Prayer For Today
“Father, thank You for providing a place where I can rest in Your grace and strength to fight my battles. Thank You that I can stay in peace and know that You will make things happen that I never could. I believe that You are in control and that You’ll work it all out for good. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE: “Return to the stronghold, you prisoners of hope. Even today I declare that I will restore double to you.” Zechariah 9:12, NKJV

Be a Prisoner of Hope

To be a “prisoner of hope” means that you can’t get away from it. You’re held by it. You should be discouraged, but in spite of all that’s come against you, you still believe you’re going to see your dreams come to pass. You may have what seems to be an incurable sickness, and you could be stressed out, but you know nothing can sn**ch you out of God’s hand. Your hope is not in the medicine, the treatment, or the professionals, even though all those things are good and we’re grateful for them. Your hope is in the God who breathed life into you. Keep your hope in the Lord.

You need not be overwhelmed by the size of the obstacles you are facing. Goliath looked stronger and more powerful, but like David, you have your hope in the Lord. You know that if God is for you, none will dare be against you.

PRAYER FOR TODAY:
“Father, thank You that I am a prisoner of hope, and You’ve promised to restore back double for anything I’ve lost. Thank You that You alone determine my destiny and nothing can sn**ch me out of Your hand. I believe Your Word is true. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Today’s Scripture: The LORD keeps you from all harm and watches over your life. The LORD keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever. Psalm 121:7–8

Both Now and Forever

The Lord is your Guardian God. He never sleeps. He’s always at your side to protect you, shielding you from every evil. He guards you when you leave home, and He guards you when you return. He guards you now, and He’ll guard you always. When you understand who has your back, you won’t go through life worried, thinking, “It’s so dangerous today. With crime so high, I’m afraid to go out. I’m afraid for my children at school.” No, you’ll say, “I have a Guardian God who is watching over me, guarding my every step.” When thoughts of fear, worry, and anxiety come, recognize that’s the enemy trying to distract you, to get you upset, to live on edge. No, go back to focusing on your ever-present God. The prophet Isaiah says, “In quietness and stillness shall be your strength.” Worry, fear, and anxiety take your strength, drain your energy, your joy, and your passion. You have to quiet your soul. Come back to a place of peace. That’s when you’ll feel strength, confidence, and joy, even in the midst of a difficult time.

Prayer For Today:
“Father, thank You that You are my Guardian God who watches over my life and puts a hedge of protection around me. Thank You that I am not at the mercy of anyone else or a disease or any situation I may be struggling with. I declare that quietness and stillness are my strength. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
