💙🤟 Deaf Awareness Month 🤟💙

This is Raiden! 💙

Deaf Awareness Month is an opportunity to learn more about Deaf people, Deaf culture, and the importance of communication access.

Being Deaf does not mean someone is less capable, less independent, or less deserving of being fully included. Deaf people work, learn, worship, raise families, build friendships, serve their communities, and experience life just like everyone else—the difference is that communication and accessibility can sometimes create barriers that hearing people never have to think about.

Awareness starts with being willing to learn. Learn a few signs. Make eye contact when communicating. Don’t assume every Deaf person communicates the same way. Include Deaf people in conversations instead of talking around them. Most importantly, see the person, not just their hearing status.

Raiden is just one of the many faces of the Deaf community, and we’re pretty blessed to know this one! 🤟💙

Awareness leads to understanding. Understanding leads to inclusion.

Deaf Voices Make a Difference! 🤟

Deaf Awareness Month is a time to recognize the leadership, language, culture, and contributions of Deaf people, and to remember that true inclusion means more than simply being present. It means having access, opportunity, and a voice that is valued. 💙

At the West Virginia Schools for the Deaf and the Blind (WVSDB), we are proud to see our students discover the power of their own voices and the difference they can make.

Deaf voices matter. Deaf voices lead. Deaf voices make a difference. 🌟

💙🤟 SEPTEMBER IS DEAF AWARENESS MONTH! 🤟💙

For Signs of Worship Deaf Ministry, Deaf Awareness Month is more than raising awareness—it is a reminder of the mission God has placed before us.

There is an entire community of precious souls who deserve the opportunity to know Jesus, understand His Word, experience His presence, and hear the Gospel in a language that is fully accessible to them.

The Deaf community is often described as one of the most unreached people groups with the Gospel. That should stir the heart of the Church. ❤️‍🔥

Jesus said, “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” — Mark 16:15 KJV

🌎 Every creature includes every language.
🤟 Every creature includes the Deaf community.
⛪ Every creature deserves an accessible church.
❤️ Every soul deserves an opportunity to know Jesus.

Our desire is not simply to interpret a church service. We want to build relationships, remove barriers, teach the Word of God, make disciples, and create a place where Deaf individuals can worship, serve, grow, and belong.

This Deaf Awareness Month, we challenge the Church to SEE the need, LEARN the language, LOVE the people, and GO reach the souls.
