What a special way to begin our Sunday morning worship service at Oak Hill Church of the Nazarene with a bittersweet but joyful moment of recognition.
Today, we celebrated and honored Corina Grimmett for her faithful service and leadership in Children's Ministry for more than 40 years. Long before many of today's children, parents, and even grandparents walked through our doors, Corina was there—opening the basement doors, preparing lessons, sharing God's love, and greeting countless children with a warm smile.
We've all heard the saying, "First impressions last a lifetime." For over four decades, Corina was often the very first face children saw when they arrived at church. Her simple words of encouragement—"Hello, how are you today? It's good to see you"—helped create a welcoming place where generations of children learned about Jesus and experienced His love.
While today marks her stepping down from this role, her impact will continue for years to come. The seeds she planted in the hearts of so many children have grown into a legacy that only eternity can fully measure. Corina, your footprints have left an incredible mark on our church family, and we are forever grateful for your faithfulness, dedication, and servant's heart.
Pastor Larry Lain continued our study of the Armor of God from Ephesians 6:10-18. The Apostle Paul reminds us to be strong in the Lord and to put on the full Armor of God so we can stand firm against the challenges of life. Through the Belt of Truth, Breastplate of Righteousness, Shoes of the Gospel of Peace, Shield of Faith, Helmet of Salvation, and the Sword of the Spirit, God equips His people to live faithfully and courageously for Him.
As believers, we are called to trust God daily, stand firm in our faith, and remain devoted to prayer. When we put on the full Armor of God, we can face life's battles with confidence, knowing that the Lord goes before us.
Thank you, Corina, for showing generations what faithful service looks like. May God richly bless you as you begin this new chapter.
