"God's Fix in 2026" with Pastor David - Romans 9:5 continues yesterday's list of blessings of God on Israel, here, on this Fine Fantastical Friday morning! The Israelites "of who are the fathers (primarily the set-apart "founders" of their people and their nation, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob)....and with no contest, the greatest blessing upon the Israelites by God...Jesus the Messiah, the Son of the Living God and Savior of those who believe, came (physically) from the Israelites.... Jesus was born a Jew!
With all THAT going for them, you would think Paul's people would have flocked to Jesus for salvation...but we know from scripture and from history that simply is not the case....and thus, Paul's continual grief and great sorrow of verse 2. Remember folks, we're seeing Paul's answer to the objection naturally stemming from 8:38&39...since it's absolutely fact that we will never be separated from the love of God, what about God's specially chosen and set apart people, the Israelites?....why are they not saved and safe?! It's ultimaly answered in the the phrase "which is in Christ Jesus our Lord"....the Jews rejected Jesus as their Lord...so now the question, what about all the promises and blessings God has given to them?... "God's Fix in 2026" with Pastor David - Romans 4&5 list some of the special blessings of God on His specially chosen people, Israel...verse 4 points out the "adoption"...not an individual adoption as is ours into the family of God by grace through faith in Christ, but a national adoption...see Exodus 4:22 where God calls Israel His "son", and Deuteronomy 7:6 where He describes His special choosing of the Israelites...
Next, we're told of the glory (of God)... God's physical presence among them (the cloud and fire in the wilderness, the glory cloud upon the tabernacle and then the temple)...
Of course, God has blessed them with covenants, many of which were and are unconditional and totally resting upon God's honor...
The Law came through the Jews, and every book of our Bible, with the probable exception of Luke, us given to us through Israelites saved by grace through in Christ alone...
As a "nation of priests" Paul's people had the blessing of "service" (worship)...
And how could we count the promises of God to His people beginning with Abraham...

"God's Fix in 2026" with Pastor David - Good morning Godly Manly Men and Women! In verse 3 of Romans 9 we begin to see the depth of Paul's love for his people...he knows it's not possible, but in his heart of hearts, he would give up his own salvation to see his Israelite brothers and sisters saved (see 10:1)! How we should share the heart of Paul....which is the heart of God..."The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness; but is long-suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."

"God's Fix in 2026" with Pastor David - It's Tuesday and Romans 9:2 continues Paul's truth telling from yesterday and verse 1... GREAT sorrow(heaviness)....CONTINUAL grief (weeping)...what could possibly pull him down from the soaring heights of 8:38&39 to weeping and heaviness of heart and continual sorrow...?

"God's Fix in 2026" with Pastor David - Magnificent Memorial Day Monday Morning! To those who served as US Airmen, Coast Guardsmen, Marines, Sailors, and Soldiers...thank you as we remember your comrades who gave all they had to give.

In Romans 9:1 Paul REALLY wants us to understand that what he's about to tell us is REAL!... I'm telling the TRUTH, I'm NOT lying, my conscience AND the Holy Spirit bears witness of my words...

"God's Fix in 2026" with Pastor David - Fantabulous Friday Friends! Technically, Paul was speaking specifically and directly to Pastor/Preacher Timothy...and THROUGH Paul, our Lord Christ is speaking specifically and directly to pastors/preachers today...but in the practical application of His message, our Lord is speaking to ALL of us, for ALL of us and EACH of us is to "preach (proclaim, witness, share) the Word...and teach the Word, and evangelize the lost, to "fulfill your ministry!" Doesn't matter the reception or the outcome, you and I...ALL Christ-followers, are to "Preach the Word! (To) Be ready in season and out of season. (To) Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all long-suffering and teaching." So....what are we waiting for? Let's get on with it!!!!

" God's Fix in 2026" with Pastor David - It's Thursday and 2 Timothy 3:14-17.
Many, if not most of you, are from here in East TN, or raised somewhere like here .. we've been "in church" all our lives..."from a child thou hast known the Holy Scriptures, which (have made) us wise unto salvation through faith which in Christ Jesus!"...but whatever our upbringing and background and journey to faith in Christ, we're "here" now, redeemed and adopted sons of God, being reminded, challenged, directed to CONTINUE "in the things which you have learned and been assured of, KNOWING from Whom you have learned them"...namely, our Lord Himself, in and through His Word, for "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work."

"God's Fix in 2026" with Pastor David - 2 Timothy 2:14-16 makes it abundantly clear as to where our focus is to be and our loyalties are to lie... God's Word, God's world, God's work, God's will, and God's way!...we are to study and "live and breathe" God's view of the world and eternity, and not entertain profitless, vain thoughts and agendas and babblings!...and we're to warn everyone else concerning the same...

"God's Fix in 2026" with Pastor David - Terrific Tuesday at 1 Timothy 4! All of chapter 4 is basically a challenge/command to pastors/Timothy, directly, yet to us, as well, to be examples to other Believers (and a lost world). Interesting in verse one, not only does God's Word (and experience) teach that "some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils (demons)," but the Spirit speaks expressly, especially in this instance and specifically to Paul. Verse 12 directly calls us to be "an example of (and to) the (true) believers (in Christ)...(examples) in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity"... and in v13, the call to "give attention to reading (of the Word), to exhortation (of the Word), and to doctrine (Bible Truth)!" A wimpy, nominal Christian is an oxymoron...a contradiction in terms...
something that cannot be!
