"God's Fix in 2026" with Pastor David - ✔️ to “ Romans 9:25&26...although Hosea was speaking of a remnant of Israel (1:9, 2:23), the Holy Spirit, through Paul, is applying the same principle to a remnant of all peoples...the body of Christ, the Church, the saved! Taken together verses 22-26, tell of Israel's rejection of Jesus and His offered Kingdom, God's "setting" them aside for a season (Romans 11), and His "(visiting) the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for His name" (Acts 15:14). All saved by grace alone through faith in Christ alone and according to the good pleasure and sovereign purpose of God alone....

See you tomorrow to wrap up Romans 9 with verses 27-29.

"God's Fix in 2026" with Pastor David - It's another wonderful Wednesday the Lord hath made, let us rejoice and be glad in it!
In Romans 9:22-24, our God's sovereign purpose becomes very personal for those upon whom He has made "known the riches of His glory on the vessels of (His) mercy, which He had afore prepared unto glory, even us, who He has called (to salvation), not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles!" I may not (do not) fully understand the love, the mercy, the grace, the sovereignty, the salvation of God, but what I DO fully understand is that I'm a recipient of His salvation because of His sovereign grace and mercy and love....saved by grace alone through faith in Christ alone!

Romans 9:25&26 tomorrow

"God's Fix in 2026" with Pastor David - So if God, in His sovreignty, chooses who and what will come to pass (yesterday's v15-18), then how can He judge us for what we do or who we become (9:19)?...Romans 9:20 reminds us that The Creator has created according to His own counsel and does not answer to His creation....and in a very practical example in 21, The Potter (Shaper) decides for Himself what He will make from each piece of clay... Tomorrow at v22-24, and the rest of the chapter, we'll begin to see how God brings everything together for His purpose.

"God's Fix in 2026" with Pastor David - Magnifico Monday! Imagine this....Moses comes down the mountain with the tablets of the 10 Commandments, finds the Israelites dancing around a golden calf...next is Moses interceding for the people before God... that's when God says to Moses, "I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion" (Ex 33:19). That is Romans 9:15 and 16-18 kind of explains/exclaims that God is God and He does as He purposes and according to His pleasure...and somehow, some way, even though Pharaoh determined himself to harden his own heart in opposing God (Ex 7:4, 14, 22, etc), the Bible is clear that God also did some hardening (Ex 7:3, 13, Romans 9:17)! Somehow, some way God chooses us AND gives us the choice to choose Him! Yeah, I can't really figure that one out, but that's ok, neither could Paul, or any of the other biblical writers...the Holy Spirit simply tells us that BOTH are true, not how they "fit" together....

See you at 9:19-21 tomorrow

June 14, 2026: Sunday Morning Service - Romans 9, Continued

06/12/2026

"God's Fix in 2026" with Pastor David - Fantastical Fabulouso Friday Friends! Now we come to one of the most hotly contested and debated verses in Romans 9...as we read of God "hating" Esau but "loving" Isaac! We would do well to turn our Bibles back to Luke 14:25-27 for the Words of our Lord Himself in understanding that Jacob was chosen and Esau was rejected for God's purpose..."hated" in both instances is obviously used in a relative sense...just as Jesus loved His mother and stepfather AND REAL Father, we are expected to do the same, but love God our Father as Jesus did...to the extent that all other love looks like "hate" by comparison!

See you Monday at Romans 9:15-18

06/11/2026

"God's Fix in 2026" with Pastor David - It's Thursday and verses 10-12 of Romans 9, and the continued explanation of God's Sovreignty in His choices and election....this time through Rebecca and her twins, Esau and Jacob. In verse 11, God through Paul, points out that His sovereign choice was made and annouced BEFORE the boys were born and had had an opportunity to DO anything, good or bad! Eventually, they turned out to be exactly who God said they would be, even though they themselves, chose to behave as they behaved...folks, this is some serious "God-stuff" that is beyond my "pay grade"...it is for human consumption, just not human comprehension!... how that God's Sovreignty and man's choices line up in real life...what I do KNOW, is that God is God and I am not, and that I can trust Him to do ALWAYS what is good and right...and after all, isn't that all I MUST know?!

See you at Romans 9:13&14

06/10/2026

"God's Fix in 2026" with Pastor David - Wed at Romans 9:8&9!...there are two things at play here... The promised Seed of and from Abraham is only through Isaac. Only those Israelites who come to God through faith in Christ are included in God's ultimate promises and purpose for the nation of Israel, likewise, ALL who come to Christ by faith, Jew and gentile, become the SPIRITUAL children of Abraham, as we are saved through the promised Seed!

06/09/2026

"God's Fix in 2026" with Pastor David - Coming off the heels of explaining just WHO the Israelites are (9:4&5), Paul, in verses 6&7 answers the unasked question. Yes the Word of God is effective to keep God's promises to His Chosen People, but ONLY those descended from Abe through Isaac are truly Israel...(and of the true Israelites, ONLY those coming by faith in Christ will be eternally saved)!

See you tomorrow at 9:8&9

06/08/2026

"God's Fix in 2026" with Pastor David - Magnificently Marvelous Monday Morning at Romans 9:1-5!
Actually we're looking at 10:1 because it explains 9:1-5... Paul's people, the Israelites, were and are lost, outside of the will of God, without faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, the Messiah! We'll pick up tomorrow with 9:6-7.
