Father mentioned this wonderful clap out tradition in this past weekend's homily. Check out the video from this year's last day of school clap out for our graduates, teachers, and Fr. Prince. 👏👏👏👏

Yes, the news is true! It is not a joke tucked into the beginning of one of Father’s homilies.

Father Prince will be leaving St. Pius X this summer. While we are saddened by the news, we are also deeply grateful for the five years he has spent leading and serving our parish and school community. We are blessed that his new assignment will not take him far. Father Prince has been appointed to the Basilica of Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception in downtown Norfolk.

To celebrate Father Prince and thank him for his faithful ministry, we invite all parishioners to join us for a Farewell Reception on Sunday, June 7, following the 11:00 AM Mass in the Parish Hall. This will be an opportunity for us to come together as a parish family, share our gratitude, and wish him well as he begins this new chapter of his priesthood.

Father Prince will still celebrate Masses with us the following weekend (June 13/14); however, he will need to depart immediately after the 11:00 AM Mass as he prepares to lead our parish pilgrimage to Italy, walking in the footsteps of Pope St. Pius X.

We are also pleased to share that Father John Agyekum, will be joining St. Pius X in August. Father John currently serves as Parochial Vicar at St. Bede Catholic Church in Williamsburg. We look forward to welcoming him to our parish family and will share details about a welcome reception after his arrival.

Please keep Father Prince, Father John, and all of the priests of our Diocese who will be transitioning to new assignments this summer in your prayers.
