What a beautiful day at Boundless Horizons!

Today was filled with friendship, creativity, teamwork, and plenty of fun as our participants tie-dyed shirts, played games, and worked together in the kitchen to make homemade pizzas and a fresh salad bar. These are the kinds of days that remind us exactly why Boundless Horizons exists—to create a place where everyone is welcomed, valued, encouraged, and given opportunities to learn, grow, serve, and simply belong.

We are especially grateful to Southern Bank⁠ for their incredibly generous $20,000 gift to support Boundless Horizons. More than the gift itself, we are thankful for Southern Bank’s belief in our participants and in the work this program is doing. Their partnership is helping us continue to build meaningful experiences and expand opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in our community.

From cabins to classrooms… a new season begins at Camp Albemarle!

The sounds of summer camp may have quieted for another year, but this special place certainly hasn’t. This week, our campus is coming alive again as Nature School at Camp Albemarle prepares to welcome students for the 2026–2027 school year!

The cabins, waterfront, trails and wide-open spaces that help make summer camp so special now become an extension of the classroom, a place to learn, explore, grow in faith, build friendships and discover God’s amazing creation.

We are so grateful for our Nature School teachers and staff who have been hard at work preparing their classrooms and welcoming families into another year of learning and adventure.

Different season. Same beautiful mission. What a blessing to see all God continues to do through Camp Albemarle, summer camp, Nature School, Boundless Horizons and beyond, as we seek to serve our community and help people of all ages grow in faith, confidence and purpose.

One last song. One last prayer. One unforgettable week.

As our very first Boundless Adventure Camp came to a close, we gathered one final time to celebrate all that God had done. Throughout the week, we watched friendships grow, confidence blossom, barriers fade, and God’s love shine through every camper, counselor, volunteer, and family.

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” — John 1:5

A heartfelt thank you to Mary Cheatham King Real Estate for supporting this incredible week, and to Open Door Church, Cape Carteret Baptist Church, and Chick-fil-A for blessing our campers and staff with wonderful meals and fellowship.

And to our amazing counselors, volunteers, and staff, thank you for the patience, joy, encouragement, and love you poured into this week. You helped make Boundless Adventure Camp everything we hoped it could be.

What a wonderful first year. We are already looking forward to Boundless Adventure Camp 2027! Until then, we’ll keep letting His light shine. Rooted in Faith. Growing with Purpose.

Another incredible day at Boundless Adventure Camp!

Today was filled with tree climbing, swimming, birdhouse painting, laughter, and new friendships. Every day we continue to see what happens when campers of all abilities come together to encourage and celebrate one another.

A huge thank you to Mary Cheatham King Real Estate, our supporting community sponsor, for believing in this vision and for spending the day volunteering with our campers while leading today's birdhouse craft. We are so grateful for your partnership!

We also extend our heartfelt thanks to Cape Carteret Baptist Church for providing a delicious lunch and blessing everyone with wonderful hospitality.

There is something special about gathering around the table. As we shared a meal today, we were reminded that fellowship is one of God’s greatest gifts, bringing people together to laugh, encourage one another, and build lasting friendships.

A heartfelt thank you to Open Door Church for providing a delicious lunch and serving our campers with such love and kindness.

We also loved welcoming Voices Together for an uplifting music therapy session. Through music, joy, and connection, they helped remind us that every person is wonderfully made and has a unique gift to share.

Day 1 of our very first Boundless Adventure Camp is officially in the books!

What an incredible beginning to a week that has been dreamed about, prayed over, and filled with so much hope.

The weather may not have cooperated with all of our plans today, but that certainly didn't stop the smiles, laughter, or the joy that filled Camp Albemarle. New friendships were formed, counselors and campers began building meaningful connections, and we started our morning exactly where we wanted to, with a faith-filled devotion, reminding us that God's light shines in every one of us.

Boundless Adventure Camp is bringing together children of all abilities to learn, play, grow, worship, and discover that everyone belongs. This week isn't about our differences, it's about celebrating the gifts God has placed in each person and creating a community where every child is seen, valued, and loved.

As another incredible summer of residential camp comes to a close, our hearts are filled with gratitude.

One of our most cherished traditions is gathering together at Closing Ceremony to sing The Lord’s Prayer. It’s a beautiful reminder that while camp comes to an end, the faith, friendships, and memories built here continue long after campers head home.

This summer, our theme scripture was John 1:5:

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”

That light shined brightly across our campus—in worship, Bible studies, campfires, waterfront adventures, laughter, new friendships, and countless moments where campers experienced the love of Christ. We were especially blessed to place Bibles into the hands of many campers who did not have one, praying that God’s Word will continue to guide them long after this summer.

A special thank you to Roger Dunn, who faithfully led his first summer as our Director of Summer Ministries. We are grateful for his leadership, dedication, and heart for sharing Christ with every camper.

We are also incredibly proud of our counselors, CITs, LITs, and program staff. So many of them began their Camp Albemarle journey as young campers and have grown into servant leaders who now pour into the next generation. They are living examples of the lasting impact camp can have on a life.

To every camper, family, volunteer, staff member, donor, and supporter—thank you for being part of another unforgettable summer. Thank you for helping the light of Christ shine so brightly at Camp Albemarle.

We can’t wait to welcome the next generation of campers and continue this ministry for years to come.

Ready…set…GO!

Our new AquaGlide Challenge Track has been a BIG hit on the Camp Albemarle waterfront this summer! Campers have even turned it into their own challenge, timing one another to see who can make it across the course the fastest.

This new waterfront enhancement is all about what camp does best: encouraging kids to try something new, challenge themselves, cheer each other on, and have a whole lot of fun along the way!

Our awesome Pirate Ship is back in action and ready for climbing, exploring, sliding and plenty of imagination! A huge THANK YOU to The Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament foundation for providing grant funding that helped us refurbish this longtime Camp Albemarle favorite.

Investments like this mean so much more than new boards and repair, they create safe, exciting spaces where campers can challenge themselves, build confidence, make friends and simply be kids at camp.

Devotion time is a special part of every day at Day Adventures at Camp Albemarle. Each week, our campers are learning John 1:5, opening their Bibles, working together, asking questions, and discovering what God’s Word means for their lives.
