Coalition of Spirit-Filled Churches

Coalition of Spirit-Filled Churches We are an endorsing agency for Christian Chaplains and Pastoral Care-Givers. In December 2000, the CSC was elected to the membership of the COMISS Network.

The Coalition of Spirit-filled Churches (CSC) is an incorporated, non-profit "religious endorsing body" ministry. We are a coalition of independent churches and groups of churches from Pentecostal, Renewal, and Charismatic traditions who have united for the exclusive purposes of the credentialing and promotion of Spirit-filled clergy and lay caregivers for pastoral care in specialized settings. Th

ese settings include, but are not limited to: the US Armed Forces; Veterans Affairs and civilian healthcare facilities; federal, state, and local correctional facilities; federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies; public and private schools; the workplace; and professional pastoral counseling practices. The COMISS Network is the very prominent pastoral care advocacy organization whose constituency is composed of most of the major religious endorsing bodies; the primary pastoral care educational, membership and certifying bodies (Association for Clinical Pastoral Education, College of Pastoral Supervision and Psychotherapy, Association of Professional Chaplains, American Association of Pastoral Counselors, American Correctional Chaplains Association, National Association of Veterans Affairs Chaplains, and National Institute of Business and Industrial Chaplains); as well as such endorsers' membership organizations as the National Conference on Ministry to the Armed Forces, the Endorsers Conference for Veterans Affairs Chaplains; in addition to the specialty Veterans Affairs chaplaincy membership groups and major institutional employers of chaplains. The COMISS Network is the sponsoring organization of the COMISS Commission on the Accreditation of Pastoral Services (CCAPS) and Pastoral Care Week. For seven years, the Endorsing Executive served as a voting member or alternate of the Professional and Technical Advisory Committee of The Joint Commission on behalf of the COMISS Network. He now serves as Chair of the COMISS Network. Please take a few minutes and explore this site. It changes regularly. We pray that the information it contains will be helpful to you. We are twelve years old and are growing rapidly. In December 2002, we reached a milestone of representing over one million Spirit-filled Americans from numerous independent congregations, and now over fifty fellowships or small denominations. If you are surfing the web today and are looking for a possible fellowship/denomination with which to affiliate, we invite you to click on the "Links to The CSC Member Groups" button to the left to view those CSC groups which have an internet site. Similarly, if you are a prospective student looking for potential sources of funding for your theological education (Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate) and/or professional development as a pastoral caregiver (residencies, fellowships, and continuing education), you will want to click here for a fairly comprehensive list of helpful links to quality possibilities. If you are a congregational leader looking for resources to help your congregation better understand the family issues around military deployment, and how to minister to these military members and their families, please visit our deployment resources page. If we may be of service to you or your congregation, please feel free and warmly invited to contact us. Blessings,

The Reverend David B. Plummer

As we celebrate our Nation's 250th birthday, we have an opportunity—and a responsibility—to ensure their service is remembered alongside all those who have defended and strengthened our Nation across generations.

🖼️ Beginning June 13: New Special Exhibition

Explore our new exhibit, "Women of Valor: 250 Years of Women Serving Our Nation," celebrating the extraordinary women whose service, sacrifice, leadership, and courage helped build, defend, and preserve our country—and the generations of women who continue that legacy of service today.

📝 June 13 throughout the Summer: Wall of Gratitude

Leave a message of thanks, remembrance, or hope for the generations of Americans whose service and sacrifice have safeguarded our freedoms and shaped our Nation and those who continue that legacy of service today.

🌟 This Is Just the Beginning

Throughout the coming year, we will share stories of courage, service, resilience, and patriotism - stories that remind us that the strength of America has always been found in those willing to step forward when their Nation called.

As America celebrates 250 years, join us in honoring the generations of Americans whose service, sacrifice, and patriotism have shaped our Nation, while bringing long-overdue recognition to the women whose service and contributions also helped build, defend, and strengthen it every step of the way...even before there was a Nation.
