Carrollton Ave Church of Christ, New Orleans

Carrollton Ave Church of Christ, New Orleans Carrollton Ave is a family of God's children serving its community. Who are we? We are a racially and socio-economically diverse congregation of God's people.

We're not rich, particularly good looking, or even terribly organized. We are far from perfect, but we cling to God's mercy as we walk together toward heaven. Bottom line: we love because we've been loved. We forgive because we are forgiven, and we have dedicated ourselves to God's service bringing light into a dark world of sin, hurt, and loss. We firmly believe that genuinely being confronted by

, and responding to, the good new Jesus brought results in transformed lives inside and out. For us, following Christ is more than just an inward feeling, it is a way of life that others can see. Here in the middle of New Orleans, we could not simply pass by all the children and wish things could be better for them: better home life, better schools, better job skills, better reading abilities or a better chance of not ending up on the streets. Following Jesus' question, "What good is salt if it has lost its saltiness?" we decided to be salty. We are committed to helping kids escape the cycle of poverty and the emptiness of life on the streets — that's what the Kids' City program is all about! Finally, we believe in passionate worship when we are together and lives that are consistent with that worship as we go to work, school, and out into our community. In fact, we see our whole lives, inside and outside of the church building, as our worship. All that philosophical and theological talk aside, in a word, we are a family

Help support our kids by donating from now till midnight Tuesday May 6th! This event makes everything possible all year--- camp, tutoring, Possibilities, reunions, everything. https://www.givenola.org/organization/mid-city-ministries

We are *still* not good at asking for money. But tomorrow is GiveNOLA Day, and it's the fundraiser that makes everything happen for us. Help make possible the things we are good at--- providing a free three-week summer camp to our kids who often do not have access to safe, fun enrichment activities; after school tutoring; and a career exploration and mentoring program for our teens. Donate from now until midnight Tuesday May 6! https://www.givenola.org/organization/mid-city-ministries
