Transformation Thursday ๐Ÿฆ‹

In Luke 10:19 Jesus gives His followers divine authority and protection over all spiritual and physical evils.

The "serpents and scorpions" symbolize the devil's forces, assuring believers that they can overcome any obstacle without ultimate spiritual harm.

"Behold, I give unto you power...": Jesus is actively authorizing and equipping His disciples to minister in His name.

"...to tread on serpents and scorpions": This uses cultural, literal dangers to represent the cunning, deceitful, and painful nature of spiritual attacks. It points to stepping victoriously over the enemy, not cowering in fear.

"...and over all the power of the enemy": The authority is comprehensive; there is no demonic or earthly force greater than what has been granted to the believer.

"...and nothing shall by any means hurt you": This is a promise of ultimate eternal security. While followers may face physical or emotional trials, no spiritual harm or eternal loss can separate them from God.

In Luke 10, Jesus has just sent out seventy-two of His disciples ahead of Him to preach and heal. When they return, they are incredibly excited that even the demons obeyed them in His name. Jesus responds with this verse to ground their excitement: He wants them to remember that this power comes entirely from Him, and that their ultimate joy should be in their salvation, not just their power over demons.๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿพ

โœจ๏ธWednesday Wisdom โœจ๏ธ

Proverbs 18:2 states:
"Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

"This verse means our words hold immense, practical influence. Speech can build up, heal, and encourage (life), or tear down, destroy relationships, and cause harm (death). We will inevitably experience the consequences of how we choose to speak.

"Death and life are in the power of the tongue":
Words are never neutral. Our speech can bring hope, comfort, and salvation to others, or it can spread negativity, deception, and conflict.

"They that love it shall eat the fruit thereof":
"Loving it" refers to cherishing speech and being a person who frequently speaks.

"Eating the fruit" is a metaphor for consequences. If you cultivate a habit of speaking words of kindness, truth, and encouragement, you will reap the positive benefits (fruit) of those good words. Conversely, if you use your tongue carelessly or maliciously, you will suffer the negative consequences.

This proverb serves as a call to mindfulness and wisdom. It reminds us to think carefully before we speak, as our language actively shapes our reality, our relationships, and the world around us.๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ
