Holy Family Cemetery invites our community to join us on Wednesday, November 11, 2026, for a special Veterans Day Mass celebrated by The Most Reverend J. Douglas Deshotel, D.D., Bishop of Lafayette.

During this special Mass, Bishop Deshotel will also solemnly consecrate the new altar in the Holy Family Cemetery Chapel, dedicating it for the celebration of the sacred mysteries.

We especially invite veterans, active-duty members of our Armed Forces, their families, and the families of our deceased veterans to join us as we give thanks for those who have served our nation and remember in prayer those who have gone before us.

Another community partner has joined the mission of Project Lazarus!

We are honored to recognize Frioux Funeral Home as a Work of Mercy Contributor to Project Lazarus. Their generous $1,000 contribution brings us another step closer to completing the communal ossuary that will serve as the heart of this charitable burial ministry.

For families facing financial hardship, the cost of a final resting place can sometimes become an overwhelming burden. Project Lazarus exists to help bridge that gap by providing dignified, permanent interment of cremated remains in the sacred grounds of Holy Family Cemetery.

The support of our local funeral homes is especially meaningful. They walk alongside families during some of life's most difficult moments and understand firsthand the importance of ensuring that every person is treated with dignity in death.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Frioux Funeral Home for believing in this mission and helping us carry out this important corporal work of mercy.

LIMITED MAUSOLEUM AVAILABILITY — PLAZA VI

If you have been considering above-ground burial at Holy Family Cemetery, now is an excellent time to make arrangements.

We currently have only FOUR single mausoleum crypts available for purchase in Plaza VI:

• 2 crypts — Level D (Top Level)
• 1 crypt — Level C (Third Level)
• 1 crypt — Level B (Second Level)

Mausoleum space in established plazas is limited, and once these crypts are sold, additional availability in Plaza VI may not be possible.

Pre-planning allows you to make this important decision in advance, select from the locations that are still available, and spare your family from having to make these arrangements at a difficult time.

We are pleased to share the installation of a beautiful new decorative fence around our Holy Innocents Section, the area of our cemetery dedicated to the burial of infants. This enhancement helps create a peaceful sanctuary for prayer, remembrance, and healing for families who have experienced the heartbreaking loss of a child.

As part of our mission, Holy Family Cemetery provides infant burials in the Holy Innocents Section at no cost to qualifying families. We believe that no family should be burdened with the expense of providing a dignified and permanent resting place for their child during such a difficult time.

A friendly reminder that the cemetery does not permit command strips, hooks or anything sticky to be placed on the front of a mausoleum door. This picture is an example why. The granite is permanently stained due to someone placing sticky letters on the front of a door.

A reminder that any hooks strips or anything that is affixed that is sticky will be immediately removed upon discovery and discarded. Thank you for your cooperation to keep the cemetery beautiful.
