Five Transitional Deacons for the Diocese of Lafayette completed the final day of their Synthesis Program today under the direction of Very Rev. William Blanda as they continue their preparation for priestly ministry in the Catholic Church.

The Synthesis Stage of formation is a significant period during which transitional deacons integrate the spiritual, academic, human, and pastoral dimensions of their formation while preparing to assume the responsibilities of priestly life and service to the People of God.

Please keep Deacon Cole Zaunbrecher, Deacon Bret Lee, Deacon Stephen Melancon, Deacon Evan Hebert, and Deacon Francis Xavier Gyles in your prayers as they prepare for Ordination to the Priesthood on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Lafayette.

All are warmly invited to attend this joyful and momentous celebration for the Diocese of Lafayette.
