The sympathy of the congregation surrounds the loved ones of Anita Johnson who died to this life at the age of 101 on October 18.

Anita and her husband, Rev. Ralph Johnson, came to NCPC in 1963, and throughout their joint ministry, Anita was an active member of our congregation. Ordained a Deacon in 1968 and an Elder in 1973, she served Christ in so many capacities - from teaching Sunday School, singing in our choir, and also serving a term as the Moderator of New Castle Presbytery. Attached is her obituary which will run in the News Journal this week; she truly was a woman of valor (Proverbs 31)!

We pray for the Holy Spirit to comfort the Johnson family, especially Anita’s five sons and their wives, her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren. We give thanks to God that Anita now rests with Ralph and all the saints in Christ's peace.

Despite Jesus' opponents trying to trick him into saying the wrong thing, Jesus offers us the alternative 'treat' of God's good news. We are made in the image of God and are part of God's family. This morning, we'll celebrate the Sacrament of Baptism and welcome our newest sibling in the family of God, Blair Dobson.

Hybrid worship begins in the Meeting House at 10:30, and our bulletin and livestream are available on our website. Nursery Care and Sunday School will be offered. Join us for Coffee Hour fellowship following worship.
NCPC's Youth Group will gather today for an In Life and In Death field trip.

On this World Communion Sunday, we travel to Jerusalem, as Christ calls out the hypocrisy of political and religious leaders. In the first of a series of parables, Jesus speaks in family-terms of the work of God's reign; we are called to both speak and participate in God's labors of love. With our siblings around the world, let us break bread together and be renewed in our call to live as Christ's disciples in word and action!

Hybrid worship with Communion begins in the Meeting House at 10:30, and our bulletin and livestream are available on our website. Nursery Care and Sunday School will be offered.
Our World Communion Offering supports ministries of justice and reconciliation.
Join us for Coffee Hour Fellowship following worship, with our New Members Gathering at Noon in the library.
At 3 p.m. today, our Viva L'Italia trumpet and piano concert will begin in the Meeting House. A free will offering will support NCPC's music ministry!

NCPC hosted the 2026 Atlantic Gathering of the PC(USA) Administrative Personnel Association.
Church admins from South Carolina, Tennessee, Delaware, Maryland, Oregon, and more (!) gathered in our Christian Education Building for educational sessions, fellowship, and more. We are grateful for their service to Christ's Church!
