"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."
(Philippians 4:6-7 NKJV)
Being concerned about life, in my opinion, is just a natural response to the issues that we face daily. Concerns about our children, family, finance, safety, and the economy, along with a multitude of other things, are real and shouldn't be taken lightly or ignored. Neither should our concerns about life's issues take up residence in our minds like a homeowner.
When concerns linger too long, they turn into worry, consuming our thoughts and paralyzing us from advancing with appropriate action to deal with the issue in a mature and comprehensive way. And, you may ask, just how do we manage these concerns?
We are encouraged by the Scripture with the following:
I Peter 5:7 NKJV
"Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you."
When we appropriate the truth at the end of that verse, we will be quicker to DO the first part of that verse. When we realize that our Heavenly Father cares for us, we will be quicker to cast ALL of our cares upon Him. And, just how much does He care for us? He sent His Son Jesus to die for us... not only to redeem us from the hands of the enemy, but also provided the means and power to cast our cares and concerns upon Him through prayer. And, He promises to take care of all that concerns us...
Psalms 138:8 NKJV
"The Lord will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever; Do not forsake the works of Your hands."
Have a fantabulous day, and dwell in peace! π
