—Matthew 9.11

There is one table.
All our divisions are a lie.
All our hierarchies are a delusion.
We are all different, and equal.
There is no greater or lesser,
no more or less worthy,
no superior or inferior,
no better or worse.
Not in God's eyes.

There is no ladder, no pyramid.
Only a circle, where last is first
and first is last.

Our hard work
is to repent of our evil hierarchies,
to be done with comparing,
creating insiders and outsiders.
We do it by coming to the one table,
sitting with our companion sinners,
our beloved siblings, all.

They're all here, friend, at the table.
Sit with them,
as God sits with you.

At our service on Sunday May 3 Michael Kozlowski gave a very moving sermon and he shared a poem he wrote.

LIFE

Sometimes I look down, and I wonder.
Are the demons right?
Am I just another number?
Another lost soul for them to suck under?

But sometimes I look up, way past the clouds I see
The living God called Yeshua is alive inside of me
It makes sense my friends, we ARE the chosen ones!
And if God had had twins then He’d have given both His Sons

Verily He said; Blessed are the hopeless ones.

You see I used to think that God was trying to find ME
Now I know all this time He was right behind me
All praise be to Him, He’s the one with the plan!
Blessed is a man who’s never seen more than one set of footprints in the sand

Fear knocked on my door, I can’t answer, I’m scared,
Jesus answered it for me and no one was there

He says:
LIFE is more than the ups and downs, Mike
More than the lefts and rights, blacks and whites, wrongs and rights
LIFE is only meant to glorify God!
Oooh boy, what a story I’ve got!

You see I believe with all of my heart Life is a prelude, DEATH is the start…

So at the end of this day and when all has been said,
Even if God cut off the hands with which I eat bread
Then at the end of the day with all said and done
I’d still praise His name at the very top of my lungs

To say thank you for giving me LIFE!
