The enemy’s strategy hasn’t changed:

Confuse your identity.

Question where God is leading.

Cast doubt on who God really is.

In Nehemiah 4, the opposition didn’t stop the work by force, they tried to stop it with discouragement, fear, and confusion. We still feel that in the world today.

But God calls His people to remember who they are, remember who He is, and keep building anyway. When confusion creeps in this week in your calling, your faith, or your purpose, pause and fix your eyes back on Him. The work God has started in you is worth protecting.

Be watchful. Be prayerful. And don’t stop building!

“No” is a powerful word.
Not because it controls, but because it protects.

As parents, we’re not just raising kids to fit into the world… we’re raising them to be led by the Spirit. The same Holy Spirit that lives in us lives in our children. That means we don’t have to be afraid to say no to what the world applauds, because we’re saying yes to something deeper.

Jesus told us plainly: the world hated Him first. So if faithfulness sometimes feels unpopular, uncomfortable, or misunderstood… that might actually mean we’re on the right path.

This is your reminder: you’re not being too strict, too cautious, or too counter-cultural. You’re being obedient. And obedience is always worth it.

Let’s have the courage to parent with conviction and trust the Spirit at work in our kids.

Believing God doesn’t just mean agreeing with Him.

It means trusting Him, even when obedience feels uncomfortable.

Even when it costs us control, convenience, or familiarity.

Faith isn’t proven in what feels easy… it’s revealed in what stretches us. And sometimes the very discomfort we want to avoid is the place God is doing His deepest work.

So today, ask yourself: Where is God inviting me to trust Him instead of protecting my comfort?

Due to the expected impact from the storm that has been predicted to begin this evening, the elders have cancelled Sunday service for tomorrow, January 25th. We pray that everyone stays safe and warm throughout this winter blast. We will miss you all tomorrow, but look forward to seeing you next Sunday.

As a reminder, following our services next Sunday, February 1st, we will be holding the annual Business Meeting where we will review the past year and discuss plans for 2026. The members will also be affirming 3 new elders as well as extending our appreciation to other elders as they end their faithful service to the elder board.
