Last day of the year! I heard someone yesterday in the grocery state that she's happy to see the back end of it. While it's certainly had it's difficulties, so will next year, and the year after, and...

Those of us in Christ know that we can praise Him in all things regardless of circumstance or condition. God created us to be creative people, and art is one of many ways we can rise above whatever trial or tribulation besets us. It helps us worship the One who created all things and sustains all things.

As you give thought to 2024, consider how your ow or someone else's creativity has helped you in those good, or those more challenging, moments and seasons of time.

Pray for your pastor this morning, inspired by Paul's words to his beloved son in the faith, Timothy. Pray that they herald and preach the Word unceasingly, keeping a sense of urgency in these current days. Pray that they remain calm and cool and steady, as they do the work of an evangelist. Finally, thay they perform all the duties of the ministry. (2 Timothy 4:2-5)

We wrapped up our study of 1, 2, and 3 John this morning with a pitch in brunch. A big "thank you" to Nashville Christian Church for graciously allowing us space to meet, study, pray, and fellowship! Until we gather again in February, abide in Him, love one another, and stay in the Word.

Simon Peter had fished all night without catching one lone fish. But because Jesus said to, he went into the deep water and caught more fish than his boat could contain. Where are you? What is Jesus asking to do that seems beyond reason? Do it, friend, and stand amazed at the results.

I'm in the process of writing a book about discipling others with intentionality, and would love to have your feedback. If you are in vocational ministry or leader in your church, how have you navigated: teaching the crowd; focusing in on a smaller group of hungry disciples; and, narrowing in on those whom you see God leading into deeper things? If you have been the fortunate recipient of this type of mentoring, what went well and what could have been better?
