Notification of transition of local leadership

Captains Vinal and Brenna Lee, who have faithfully served our community since 2022, have received new appointments to serve in The Salvation Army Caribbean Territory, effective July 1st. We are deeply grateful for their faithful leadership, pastoral care, and the impact they have made in our community. While we will miss them, we rejoice in God’s continued calling on their lives and ministry.

Please join us for their Farewell Service on Sunday, June 28th, at 11:00am as we celebrate the Lees, thank them for their service, and pray for them as they begin this new chapter.

We are also pleased to welcome Lieutenants Trevor and Julie Reed, who will be joining us as our new Corps Officers. Their first Sunday with us will be July 5th, at 11:00am, and we look forward to warmly welcoming them into our corps family.

God is faithful in every season, and we trust His leading as we move forward together.

We wrapped up our last night of youth group for the school year but we are looking forward to gathering Wednesday June 17th from 5-7 at Deer Run Park and again on Thursday July 16th from 5-7. God has and will continue to bless this ministry. Students shared testimony after testimony of the way that they've grown in their relationship with the Lord here at The Salvation Army.

There's a gift at the end of the battle. In Judges 6 we learn about a man named Gideon. He was afraid the battle seemed overwhelming, but God saw Gideon. What the world may have saw as a coward, God saw as a mighty warrior. Gideon trusted in God and because he trusted that God would prevail. Gideon found strength to face the battle. Trust in God.

Over the weekend women from all across the state gathered at The Salvation Army’s for a worshipful weekend.

We worshiped, we prayed, we ate, laughed and played. Throughout the weekend we explored God’s Word, being reminded why we can have “confident faith,” in God!

Jesus teaches us in Matthew that we are to forgive those who wrong us fully, completely, and unrelentingly. This is a hard teaching. It can be hard to forgive those who wrong us, especially when they don't ask for forgiveness. Jesus shows us that in life forgiveness is often for our benefit. Forgiveness helps us find peace in our life and remove anger and bitterness. Jesus doesn't simply teach us to forgive He shows us how to forgive. Jesus loves you and invites you to follow Him.
