Mayflower Congregational UCC

Mayflower Congregational UCC We are people just like you searching for meaning in life, finding our purpose in life and we look to the Bible, prayer, conversation and study to help us Rev.

Mayflower held its first worship service in January of 1990 under the leadership of Rev. Mark Burns. The service was held in a meeting room at what is now Lely Manor Care. In the fall of 1990 worship moved to the new Lely Elementary School. Pastor Mark left to take a church in Virginia in 1993. Under the leadership of interim pastor Gordon Svoboda the church began to grow and in 1995 Rev. Robert E

. Townsend was called. In 1996 Mayflower purchased almost 10 acres for what is now our campus. The congregation continued to grow, and in 1999 the Family Life Center was opened. In 2004 the present sanctuary was dedicated. Townsend left in 2011. In 2012 Mayflower was excited to call Rev. Alan Coe as our new spiritual leader! In 2020 Mayflower celebrated their 30th anniversary of ministering to the Naples community. After 11 years at Mayflower, Pastor Alan has retired and we are now searching for a new shepherd.

Recipe for Desperate Times

Circle. Song. Scripture. Fire. Water. Prayer. Food shared. These things do not make desperate times less desperate, but they do shine a light so we can see a path through them.

Whatever you're facing today, God is still trustworthy.

Not just when life is easy.
Not just when the outcome is clear.
Not just when the prayers are answered.

Even here. Even now.

Interrupted by our conscience

Iโ€™d prefer to focus on how right I am, while ignoring what my anger is doing, what my grievance is becoming. Jesus calls me to check myself, to stop carrying what God is calling me to put down.

Lord, today, we lift up every person carrying a broken heart. Thank You that You are close to the brokenhearted and that You save those who are crushed in spirit.

Where there is grief, bring comfort. Where there is disappointment, bring hope. Where there is fear, bring peace, and remind us that no hurt is beyond Your healing power and no situation is beyond Your redemption. Amen.

No matter how dark your situation is, your Deliverer is comingโ€”and he just might show up in a way you've
never seen before.

Evil robots

I was present at a modern exorcism recently. About 50 of us gathered one morning outside an ICE substation. We carried photographs of everyone who had died in ICE custody so far this year.
