1 Timothy 5:3 is on my heart... "Take care of any widow who has no one elseto care for her." (NLT.)
Here is the update on Faith Kuwangula, the widow who was viciously beaten by five Muslim men while doing door-to-door evangelism in Eastern Uganda during Easter weekend. So far, two of her attackers have been caught and are in custody.
Last Tuesday, Faith was in tremendous pain and was moved from hospital in Eastern Uganda via ambulance to a much better hospital in Kampala. This probably saved her life because shortly after arriving Faith's blood pressure repeatedly shot up into very dangerous levels. She has blacked out and collapsed twice before the scheduled surgery could be performed.
The situation prevented the surgery and plunged her into a critical condition coma both times where the doctors weren't sure that she would survive. But God has His hand on her.
Fortunately, her first surgery was finally done earlier today. Currently, she is very weak and recovering in the
intensive care unit. OHI has sent two other widows from the OHEC farm to Kampala to be by her side 24/7 during her time in the hospital. We are thanking God for His mercy and the provision to save her life. The doctors are expecting her to stay in the hospital for at least two to three weeks. Thank you for your continued prayers. OUR MANDATE
The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
because the Lord has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,[a]
2 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor
and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn,
3 and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
instead of ashes,
the oil of joy
instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
a planting of the Lord
for the display of his splendor.
Isaiah 61:1-3 (New International Version)

With deep sorrow, yet with unshakable hope in Christ, we announce that Janet Helms, the founder of Orphaned Heart International has gone to be with the Lord. She has joined her husband Worth Helms in Heaven who preceded her in death last year. Janet faithfully poured out her life in obedience to God’s call, carrying a deep passion for the message of healing the orphaned heart and inner healing. Through this God-given mandate, she touched countless lives across East Africa, especially in Uganda, Congo, Kenya, Tanzania, and Rwanda, ministering the love, restoration, and compassion of Christ.
Her legacy lives on in the hearts she nurtured, the ministries she birthed, and the hope she continually pointed people to in Jesus. We rejoice that she is now fully healed and resting in the glorious presence of the Lord she loved and served so well (2 Timothy 4:7–8).
Please keep the family, friends in prayer during this time of mourning and thanksgiving for a life well lived.
“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.” — Psalm 116:15

HERE'S THE HEARTBEAT OF Orphaned Heart International
"11 “All who heard me praised me. All who saw me spoke well of me. 12 For I assisted the poor in their neeand the orphans who required help. 13 I helped those without hope, and they blessed me. And I caused the widows’ hearts to sing for joy.14 Everything I did was honest. Righteousness covered me like a robe, and I wore justice like a turban. 15 I served as eyes for the blind and feet for the lame. 16 I was a father to the poor and assisted strangers who needed help. 17 I broke the jaws of godless oppressors and plucked their victims from their teeth."
