Just a normal day at Good Shepherd 🙃

VBS is almost here, and while things aren’t quite this chaotic… we’re getting close!

There are still a few spots available in both our morning and afternoon sessions, and we’re also looking for a little help as we get ready.

One of the easiest ways to support is through our VBS Wishlist, which is now available!

Whether you’re registering a child, signing up to serve, or checking out the wishlist, you’ll find everything you need on our website!

The strongest form of resistance, in the book of Revelation, is to worship God.

This Summer we are digging into the Book of Revelation.

We're bringing all our questions, all our misconceptions, all our (potentially misguided) certainty around the Book to this series, which will kick off with author, professor and theologian Scot McKnight in all our services!

Don't miss the opportunity to hear from Scot, and if you're ready, jump into our class on Tuesday nights over the summer where we'll dig more into the Book of Revelation, led by Pastor Elisabeth.

We can't wait!

If we only share our faith when it’s easy, convenient, and perfectly comfortable, we miss out on the very heart of the Gospel. Jesus’ final words to His followers in Matthew 28: “Go and make disciples of all peoples and nations, even if it’s hard.”

He didn’t say “go if you feel like it” or “go when the circumstances are perfect.” He just said Go.

Discipleship is messy, it takes time and sacrifice. It means showing up for people even when it’s inconvenient. But the hard work is where the miracles happen. It’s where lives are changed, chains are broken, and communities are transformed.

It was a beautiful reveal Sunday for our Chapel, and a wonderful part of our honoring of Mother’s Day. Please join us in this prayer for today.

On this joyous day dedicated to honoring mothers, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude. We ask, Lord, for Your special touch upon every mother who is present here today and those who could not be with us. Bless them abundantly, and may the work of their hands be forever cherished in Yoursight.

Grant each mother strength, patience, and endless love as they nurture and guide their families. Let her example to her children be a beacon that guides them through life’s challenges and joys. May her wisdom and faith be a legacy passed down to the next generation of mothers.

We also pray for comfort and support for those who find this day difficult – those who have lost their mothers, those yearning to be mothers, and those who have strained relationships. Surround them with Your love and peace, providing comfort in their hearts.

May today be a reflection of the joy and beauty they bring into our lives. We thank You for the gift of motherhood, the endless sacrifices made, and the unconditional love given. We ask these blessings in Your holy name, Amen.

God moves towards us.

When we make things like baptism about ourselves, we miss an opportunity to reflect about the character of God. He always moves towards us! Towards more relationship with us, more of Him in our lives, more of His spirit radiating out into our communities!

Our annual Claimed by God baptism service will be on May 24! It’ll be a joy filled day for folks remembering their baptism, and a few baptism celebrations! If you’re curious about baptism, if you feel like you’re ready, reach out! We’d love to connect you with one of our pastors!

In preparation for our upcoming teaching series on Revelation, and the deep dive discussion class she’ll be leading every Tuesday night during the series, Pastor asked our congregation about the book of Revelation.

It went exactly how you thought it would go 😂

If you’re like any of the folks in this video, you’re perfect for our class on Revelation! DM us and we’ll send you a link to register!

We closed a significant chapter of our nearly 50 year history when we held our last traditional worship service in our sanctuary at 1310 Shepherd Drive. This Sunday we start a new chapter in our Chapel. And every Sunday morning at 9:00 & 10:45 we get to proclaim the Good News of Jesus. We’d love to have you be a part of it! See you Sunday!

It’s gonna be May!

Before we jump into the start of summer and all that’s coming in May (will we see you at the Annual Meeting on Sunday?) we have to celebrate all that God has done in April!

We celebrated Easter and wrapped up a powerful season of Lent.

Our students celebrated confirmation and our kids connected in ministries made for them!

We served in our community with our mission partners, and even got the chance to honor some of that serving through an award received by pastor Tara Beth.

All throughout April we proclaimed the good news for all, and we can’t wait to do that all of May, June, July and beyond! The best days of Good Shepherd are ahead!

Your biggest mistake doesn’t define you. Jesus does.

The worst thing you’ve ever said doesn’t define you. Jesus does.

What others have done to you or said about you doesn’t define you. Jesus does.

He loves you. And He wants a relationship with you.
