Hello Front Porch Church family and friends. Can you believe summer is ending and fall is around the corner? I hope you are enjoying the last official summer weekend. Today, Rochelle Scheuermannwill pick up week 2 in our “Come to the Table” series and teach from the book of Luke.

Last week, Justin shared that we all have a seat at the table. You, me, and all who believe have a seat at the Lord’s table. Today, Rochelle will teach how a sinful women’s actions created a stir at the table, but also showed others around the table of her great love for Jesus.

Again, Jesus didn’t build tables that kept people out. He kept pulling up another chair and inviting people to join Him. Come join us Sunday at 4:30pm in the gym at Yellow Box church as we talk about what we can do at the table to show love and acceptance for others. Invite someone new to the service so they can see their place at the table as well. All are welcome.

Hello Front Porch Church family and friends. I hope you are having a great week. This Sunday, Justin will be back teaching as we look at a story that says a lot about who Jesus welcomes.

Have you ever walked into a room and wondered if you really belonged there? Maybe everyone else seemed to know each other. Maybe you felt different. Maybe you wondered if there was actually a place for you.

Throughout the Gospels, Jesus repeatedly chooses to spend time with people others had pushed to the margins. Tax collectors. Sinners. Outsiders. People the religious leaders believed Jesus should stay away from.

And they noticed.

They asked, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?”

Jesus’ answer was simple: “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.”

This Sunday, we’ll explore what these stories tell us about the heart of Jesus, the kind of community He was creating, and what that means for us today. We’ll also wrestle with a question that may be more challenging than it first appears: Who are the people today that we are tempted to decide don’t belong?

Jesus didn’t build a table that kept people out. He kept pulling up another chair.

Come join us Sunday at 4:30pm in the gym at Yellow Box church as we talk about grace, belonging, and what it means to know there is a place at the table for you. I hope you and a friend can join us. All are welcome.

Hello Front Porch Church family and friends. Alinda and I are excited to be home as we welcome back Danielle as our FPC teacher this weekend.

Have you ever felt like everything depends on you? One more email. One more task. One more deadline. One more thing to take care of before you can finally rest. This Sunday, Danielle is wrapping up our Soul-Strengthened Leadership series with a conversation about something we all need but often struggle to receive: rest.

I know we’ve all been tired at some point, or even right now. The easiest thing we often do is say, "It's just a season; it'll pass". But without conscious choices, it won't pass. The unplugging gets scheduled for "someday", and someday rarely comes.

This Sunday, we’ll discover that rest isn’t just about taking a day off. Rest is an act of trust, surrender, and resistance. It reminds us that God is God, we are not, and the world can keep turning even when we stop. And maybe the rest you need isn’t just a break. Maybe it’s a new rhythm.

Come join us Sunday at 4:30pm in the gym at Yellow Box church as we explore what it looks like to trust God enough to rest. I hope you and a friend can join us. All are welcome.

Hello Front Porch Church family and friends. This Sunday, August 16th, Kevin will be teaching and Sophia will be hosting. Kevin will continue our Soul-Strengthened Leadership series as we follow Moses to the edge of the Red Sea, where the Israelites are trapped, fear is rising, and there seems to be no way out.

But what happens next reveals something powerful about what God forms in us before the crisis ever comes. We discover what it means to keep our eyes on God when everything around us says to panic, and how we can learn to trust that God can make a way.

Join us Sunday at 4:30pm in the gym at Yellow Box church. I hope you and a friend can join us as we explore ways to trust God in uncertain times. All are welcome.

Hello Front Porch Church family and friends. This Sunday, August 9th, we welcome back Charlie Browning as our Front Porch Church teacher. Charlie will continue our Soul-Strengthened Leadership series as he looks at Moses' encounter with the burning bush. We discover how God often meets us in the ordinary, if we're willing to slow down and pay attention.

Have you ever wondered what you might be missing? In a world full of notifications, busy schedules, and doom scrolling on your phone, it's easy to move through life without noticing what matters most.

Join us Sunday at 4:30pm in the gym at Yellow Box church. I hope you and a friend can join us as we explore how God works in ways, that if we only slow down, we can see and experience them to the fullest. All are welcome.
