Who is Jesus?
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?” Yes, Lord,” she replied, “I believe that you are the Messiah, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.” — John 11:25-27.

The Scripture passage above is a part of the conversation between Jesus and Lazarus’ sister, Martha.

As I read it again, the faith of Martha struck me like a bolt of lightening. You see, sometimes we disparage her because of what Jesus said about Mary who availed herself of the privilege of being a disciple, learning at Jesus’ feet…but the work still has to be done.

Nevertheless, we hear the deep faith of Martha as she responded to Jesus, declaring boldly and passionately, just who He is. I love it, I love to hear the Godly testimonies and determined stance of other lovers of Christ!

As I “listened” to Martha, I wondered: Have you made such a declaration about Jesus? Your Christian friends may know but how about the unbelievers — do they know of your deep love for “Jesus the Messiah, the Son of God?” Do they know that by believing in Him, they will be resurrected to Eternal Life?

With all my heart, I encourage you to proclaim your belief proudly and loudly, to the honor and glory of God the Father. Amen.

Light
In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. 2 Corinthians 4:4 (KJV).

Last week, we spoke about the “spring” in believers, a gift of Christ Jesus that flows to others, doing wonderful things for others — quenching thirst, cleansing, refreshing, bringing forth life, etc. — as it flows to the sea from which it originated.

This week, we speak to light. There are many passages from which to choose that speaks to who we are as “light” but this one reminds us of our responsibility.

We are reminded that there are those among us, even in our families, who are in darkness - blinded - but that should not stop us from shining light in their lives. You see, we never know when God will part the darkness and allow the light of the glorious Gospel of Christ to enter and dispel the darkness in that person, leading he or she to life eternal.

Hell is frightening and so we ought to be zealous about proclaiming the Good News of salvation. It does not matter if they whisper behind your back or laugh at you, our focus is about saving souls in Jesus by the power of the Holy Spirit, who resides within. “Just. Do. It!”

“The sons of light have an overwhelming obligation to the children of darkness.” A.W. Tozer. Hallelujah and Amen.

Spring
Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”
The woman said to him, “Sir, give me this water so that I won’t get thirsty and have to keep coming here to draw water.” John 4:13-15.

The Samaritan woman to whom Jesus spoke heard the Good News. She eagerly responded, “Give it to me. I want it so I won’t have to…” But Jesus said so much more, which at that point, she exhibited no interest.

She did not inquire about the spring, which naturally supplies others with necessary life-giving water and in that our lives become more than just about our needs. She didn’t asked Jesus about the eternal life He offered either. Her focus was the here and now and her creature comforts.

Yet, how many of us have heard the Good News of Jesus and respond in a similar manner?
* Just give me salvation, I want to avoid Hell. The “spring” means nothing — therefore, the relationship with Christ and with others does not manifest in your life.
* Just give me an easier life - smooth and trouble free. I will keep to myself and not get into other people’s business…my blinders are ready.

I pray that is not true of you and that like this woman, you will come to full realization of who Jesus is, surrendering your life to the One who ascended and will come again for His faithful people.

Be, my friend, a “spring” to others in Jesus’ name and to His honor and glory. Amen.

With Us
While they were talking and discussing, Jesus himself came near and went with them… Luke 24:15.

Whether you are taking a walk with a friend, enjoying a car ride with another, or having a telephone conversation, is it Christ-centered?

The love for Jesus and the searing grief of the men who walked home, thinking that Jesus was dead consumed their hearts, minds and souls. Despite their thoughts, feelings, and many assumptions; Jesus was alive and walking the earth. It was and is not over.

Christians remember and celebrate the Ascension of Christ 40 days after His death and it is not that day as yet in 2026, having celebrated Christ’s resurrection. So, what is your conversion? Have we left this powerful demonstration of God’s love and redemption behind — so quickly — in order to carry on with your life? Is not Jesus Christ your life?

Aah,I pray we are still focused on the incalculable cost of our salvation and living in exceptional gratitude to God, our Savior. Jesus is definitely walking with us, therefore, let our daily conversations be Christ-centered and honoring — to the honor and glory of God.

Amen.

God is Present - A Story
Hear, O Lord, when I cry aloud; be gracious to me and answer me! “Come,” my heart says, “seek his face!” Your face, Lord, do I seek. Psalm 27:7-8. NRSVUE

7 Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me.
8 When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, Lord, will I seek. KJV

A few days ago, we were presented with options regarding a major decision. It came from the “left field” so I was taken aback. A few hours later while in the silence and solitude of devotional time, I expressed the desire to be like King David. Should I go to war, should I do this or that; demonstrating for us the truth of Who makes the decisions of life. So I prayed.

I open the web browser page that is constantly at Psalm 27, my favorite, for I read it regularly to commit it to memory. My heart stopped at the verses above. Well, Pam, here is your invitation from the Almighty.

I have included two versions of the Scripture above but I must confess that the KJV thrilled me as God said “Seek my face…” He spoke to the writer, David, and right there and then He spoke to me. I was so thrilled, I could hardly contain the joy. Do I know the truth that our God invites us to Himself, through Christ Jesus, empowered by the Holy Spirit…absolutely! But in the crucible of the present situation, it was a most amazing invitation to communion, to wisdom, to trust.

We are not alone no matter the circumstances; God is always present and I glory therein. Peace. Amen.

Restoration
'Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.' Luke 22:31-32.

Jesus speaks to Peter and these few words fill our hearts with assurance, hope, and gladness.
* Oh the assurance that nothing comes into our lives without the permissive will of Jesus. See clearly that Satan had to ask God Almighty if he could …
* Oh the hope that is in our great High Priest Christ Jesus! We have failed BUT He intercedes for us and sees us through to the end. Note that as He speaks to Peter He speaks in the past tense—“I have prayed for you.” Making it through this trial is a done deal.
* Oh the joy and gladness of being in Jesus! The outcome is definite - “when you have turned…” Jesus confirmed that Peter will not stay away from his place in and with Jesus. His faith will not fail.
Aah, faith and works - inseparable. You see, when Peter comes back, because of the infinite mercies of God, he was again given the privilege of working for the Master through helping, building up, and encouraging others. Speak and live the Good News, Christian friends.

Hallelujah - all honor and glory to our Triune God who loves, forgives, and restores. Amen.

Living Hope
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13.

A prayer for the Christians in Rome; a prayer for us. Some of us are losing hope but there is no need for it, particularly those of us who know Christ Jesus. Good News - a reminder to us and wonderful news for those who have yet to accept Jesus as Lord.

We have living hope because:
* God is our hope and He is a Living God
* The Holy Spirit empowers us with strength to live in our circumstances
* We are alive in Christ Jesus who is Risen so our hope is alive and fervent
And as we note in this Scripture verse, we are gifted with joy and peace, despite our various situations and all these overflow to the hopeless, the joyless, and those in turmoil — sweet peace.

May you be truly filled with the living hope that is made available to us from God, through Jesus, by the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen

Testy
But Martha was distracted by her many tasks, so she came to him and asked, “Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to do all the work by myself? Tell her, then, to help me.” Luke 10:40.

We pick on Martha - how could she? But we have forgotten that the twelve in the boat, during a violent storm, asked Jesus the same question: “Do you not care…” (Mark 4:38).

When we are frustrated, frightened, and fearful, we get a testy - impatient, a little aggressive, and we demand an answer NOW! We lose our reverence and awe (temporarily, I hope) of the Almighty as our focus turns to our needs, our agendas and their perceived urgency.

If we were ever to be tempted to act in such a manner, turn around and look at The Cross, pose the question again and then delve deeply into its response.

So, does Jesus care? Yes, with every fiber of His Being. Rest in it. Thanks be to God — Hallelujah and Amen.

Glory Hallelujah
Then an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. Luke 2:9.

Christian friends — Here is a question I should like you to answer to yourself and before God; does your presence display the glory of God?

Now angels are awesome in and of themselves who instill fear in humans whenever there is an encounter. However, note in this passage that the display around the angel was neither from the angel nor was it about the angel but it was
all about God — “the glory of the Lord shone…”

I took delight in reading this but I wondered if my life, presence in this world — home, church, community, etc. — displays the glory of the Lord. After all, I claim belief in God and that His Holy Spirit dwells within me — where then is the glory? Do others seeh it in you or in me?

Indeed, we ought to reflect our Father’s glory in our speech and actions, displaying the virtues of our God in all our circumstances. I encourage to examine your lives giving honor and glory to God on this Palm Sunday and always. Amen.
