What a Mighty God we Serve!
He sent redemption to his people; he has commanded his covenant forever. Holy and awesome is his name! Psalm 111:19.

What kind of love is hereby expressed? God, of His own free will, has sent redemption while we were (and are) in darkness. He desires that we become His people. He has chosen us to be the inheritors of redemption through His grace and mercy. He took the initiative and sent redemption! We accept it.

We did not purchase it, can not work for it, did not even seek after it. But God, in His sovereignty, delights in making us His children through Christ Jesus, our Lord and Savior. We accept it.

He established a Covenant in Jesus, which is eternal. We cannot add clauses it to, cannot mitigate its effectiveness or tamper with it in any way — it is inviolable. If we seek to violate it, it is something other than God’s Holy Covenant. We accept it.

Note the joy of the psalmist. Having spoken to redemptive grace and covenantal mercy, he erupts into praise. How could he not? Holy and awesome; great and marvelous, just and righteous, loving and lovely is our Lord God Almighty.

Praise Him with me this day fellow Christians — what a Mighty God! Amen and hallelujah.

Join the Celebration

Shout for joy, you heavens;� rejoice, you earth;� burst into song, you mountains!�For the Lord comforts his people� and will have compassion on his afflicted ones. Isaiah 49:13.

What exuberance!
Shout — Rejoice — Burst.
Heaven, earth and mountains are co-opted into this wonder of praise to the God of glory!

You ask, “Why?” You see, the works of God’s hands are worthy of honor and glory. This act of praise is the acknowledgment that God is, indeed, good. He is Comforter and filled with compassion. Note that these characteristics are for His “afflicted ones.”

Yes, for you also as we are afflicted by a sin nature and the Enemy is always seeking to devour. It is the truth for persecuted Christians anywhere and everywhere in this world - Ethiopia, Armenia, Myanmar or any other place where the children of the Lord are treated as “garbage.” (1 Corinthians 4:13).

Do not worry, joy comes. In the meantime, along with the heavens, earth and mountains, burst out in rejoicing to the Lord - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Hallelujah and Amen.

Why Haven’t You?
We have not brought salvation to the earth, and the people of the world have not come to life. Isaiah 26:18b.

Oh, what an indictment!

We, who have been given the Good News of Christ Jesus, who have experienced the redemptive power of our Lord, who have the hope of eternal life, and who can bring light into the darkness of sin and death have deliberately chosen not to do so. Mercy.

Yes, our mouths are filled with excuses but not one word will stand before the Lord God Almighty.

As I now live with my daughter’s nine children, I know I must speak life into their hearts and pray for an obedient spirit in each. Israel did not accomplish its task and I wonder about the Church, the Bride of Christ…are we being dutifully and obedient, filled with love for God and our neighbor? If so, we would be sharing the Gospel of our Savior.

There is a “necessity of human action” in the sharing of God’s gift of salvation. May each of us ask the Lord God to loosen our tongue in our love for Him and others. It is righteous, good, and holy.

Do it! Hallelujah and amen.

Stand
“If you do not stand firm in your faith,
You will not stand at all.” Isaiah 7:9b.

Is that statement to us not a definitive one? And it is so true for many of us who are not zealous for our faith in Christ Jesus are easily pulled here and there by all kinds of deceitful doctrines which come our way…then you are not standing.

The “standing” conveys a picture of full
belief and commitment and whenever you stand in whatever teaching, this is evidenced to other. For instance, the man in Psalm 1 stood in the way of sinners, showing his allegiance to the lifestyle of that group. Your stance is revealing!

Paul reminds us of the importance of standing in God our Savior, viz: “Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.” Ephesians 6:13.

Stand, my brothers and sisters - you can because God has provided all you need to carry out His commands. It is the righteous thing to do and it pleases God. Amen.

Did I Say Rejoice?
The Lord, your God, is in your midst,� a warrior who gives victory;�he will rejoice over you with gladness;� he will renew you in his love;�he will exult over you with loud singing. Zephaniah 3:17.

What a lovely passage in the Old Testament, which speaks to how God reacts to His beloved children. Isn’t it great? Oh yes, keep that smile on your face; it emanates from the heart — a gift of Truth.

Friends, as you read this, one of the things you realize is God wants us to do what He does. You know we have been called to “rejoice, and again I say, rejoice.” So God rejoices over us and we rejoice over Him, in Him, through Him, because of Him and for His honor and glory — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Yes and amen.

Notice that God is in our midst - right there with us in the battles of life to give us victory — rejoice.
When we fall or fail, He will renew us in eternal love — rejoice.
And then He gets loud with exultation and singing — rejoice.

What a Mighty and Loving God we serve — and again I say, rejoice. Blessings to you, Christian friends. My love to you…Amen.

Your Letter
You yourselves are our letter, written on our hearts, known and read by everyone. You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts. 2 Corinthians 3:2-3.

In a few days, my husband and I will be moving to a different state to be with our daughter and her family. I have, many times, thought through this journey, this new season, the purpose and all aspects relating to this move and am entirely convinced of God’s direction and movement; His will. So here we go…

However, in thinking of the love of friends and the physical separation, I know God overwhelmingly poured out sweet and genuine friendships in our lives. So precious and as I thought of them, the Scripture passage above speaks volumes of how I feel. These friendships are letters from God, written through each, etched deeply on our hearts.

We are so grateful to God, no language can express it. I simply state the words of Peter: “Lord, you know all things.”

My advise to you Christian friends: receive the letters of Christ, read them without skepticism, cherish them deeply and give God the glory. Your lives will be made richer and fuller, with joy and gladness exuding from your very beings. They are gifts from the Lord God Almighty to you.

Proclamation
The Lord is righteous in all his ways and faithful in all he does. The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call upon him in truth. Psalm 145:17-18.

If this soul-moving utterance of truth concerning the Lord God Almighty does not inspire joy in your heart, you have an issue with God’s righteousness, His faithfulness, or the unmitigated truth that He is near to those who belong.

If this is true of you, my plea is that you enter into a time with God and speak, cast, unburden all of your unbelief. You will be that person who call upon Him in truth and in so doing will find forgiveness and restoration, as also the freedom in knowing that there are no hindrances in the relationship with your God.

If you are in agreement with the psalmist, dear friend, sing on…in Jesus’ Name. Hallelujah and Amen.

God’s Mysterious Ways
As you do not know the way the spirit comes to the bones in the womb of a woman with child, so you do not know the work of God who makes everything. Ecclesiastes 11:5.

And truly this is a testimony of God’s mysterious movements. A few days ago, I accidentally dialed a friend with whom I speak every now and then. We used to be coworkers and I considered as a younger sister.

Well, I hung up immediately because it was not my intent to call her. She called right back and here is a part of our conversation —
“A mistake baby.”
“No it is not, I needed to hear from you. My father died and his funeral is 9:30 this morning.” All this through tears of grief. “God does not make mistakes.”

We then went into a period of information, condolences and prayer. She was refreshed and strengthened for the day and I praised God for His mysterious movement, something I cannot fully understand but relish. His almighty care for us, even in the little things, is profoundly moving.

Friends: Look for the “little” things, they carry much blessings, peace and joy. Look today and be uplifted that God IS in control of all aspects of His children’s lives. Be…

Subjection
They yoked themselves to the Baal of Peor. Psalm 106:28a

When I read this again, I stopped to consider how nonsensical it is. The reference is the people who God had chosen to become His chosen nation, His inheritance, His prized possession. He had poured out His love, presence, protection, provision, care and nurture, blessings unnumbered and so much more. He had set them free from hundreds of years of enslavement and deprivation.

Yet, they chose to be enslaved to an idol, a false god, who could do nothing on their behalf. What a tragedy! They “yoked themselves” freely, willingly. Oh, the insanity of sin.

I considered further … how about us? To what are we yoked? What comes first in our lives while we pretend it is Jesus? What stirs us with delight and causes us to attend to it immediately. What cravings master us? What possession posses our thoughts continuously? That, my friend, is your Baal.

If your answer is not Jesus, then seek the Lord and be yoked to Him. There to be found are mercy and grace, forgiveness and restoration, consolation and communion; entirely wrapped in love, full and free. You will be set free from your idol to realize your eternal dwelling place in Christ Jesus, our Lord and Savior. ”Make it so.”

For You…
Teach me your way, Lord, that I may rely on your faithfulness;
give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name.
I will praise you, Lord my God, with all my heart; I will glorify your name forever.
For great is your love toward me; you have delivered me from the depths, from the realm of the dead. Psalm 86:11-13.

This portion of The Psalms is so striking to me and I would like you to join me in praise and adoration this day.

You know, as well as I do, most often our requests are for self-indulgence. We want! However, as you read the Scripture passage above, you note immediately that with each request, the beneficiary is the Lord God Almighty. Is it not great?
* Teach me and I will rely on you; not become haughty in knowledge but humble in dependence.
* Make me faithful and I will render awe and adulation.
* Therefore, there will be no limit to my praise (all my heart) and I will glorify your Name forever.

Hallelujah! “Your love is great toward me;” how does one quantify “great?” And yes “even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved…” Ephesians 2:5.

All is for You, Christ Jesus, all for You. Can I get an Amen and Praise the Lord?
