In October 1957, after several years of sharing, two Muscatine churches (The First Congregational Christian Church and St. John’s Evangelical & Reformed Church) officially merged into one church. The newly blended congregations adopted the name “Faith United Church of Christ”. In June 25, 1957 the national United Church of Christ was officially formed. Muscatine’s Faith was one of the earliest to become a United Church of Christ.

Our beloved member and sibling in Christ, Bob Sharar, passed away on Monday June 1st at home, surrounded by family. We will celebrate his life and lay him to rest this Friday.

10 to Noon - Visitation at Wittich/Riley/Freers Funeral Home
Noon - Service at the Funeral Home, from there we will travel to Greenwood Cemetery for the burial
1 pm - Funeral Luncheon here at Faith UCC

At 5 pm the celebration of life will continue at 2559 Bayfield Road, where family and friends are invited to a more informal time of sharing stories and healing together

Bobby will be deeply missed ❤️

🚨Please note🚨This Sunday we will worship at 9:30 am AT Island United Methodist Church (2598 Stewart Road). You are encouraged to bring a lawn chair (and sunscreen, bug spray, anything that would make your outside experience more enjoyable 😊) This is the first of our ecumenical outdoor services this summer and we can't wait to be all together again, this time with even MORE friends, as both Musserville and Peace United Methodist churches join us!
