Many from in and outside of town have asked how to help with the floods. We are fortunate that none of our parishoners experienced catastrophic loss and we are working to assess the needed repairs to our building.

Meanwhile, we are helping connect to partners in the community who are providing direct aid rather than creating another destination at our building for families in crisis to have to get to in order to access their basic needs.

From your generosity, Pastor Z connected with Folk Collective get requested materials to our unhoused neighbors who have been displaced. Pastor Maria also helped connect cleaning supply resources from Union Chapel to affected Inspire Academy families.

Marissa, an Urban Lighter, showed up at the Red Cross shelter at Community of Hope Muncie. We would love for others to join her and their efforts at providing temporary shelter the next 2-3 weeks. Just fill out their google form to volunteer!

2-1-1 is the number to call for those impacted. It is the primary source to help people know where to begin.

DONATE ABOVE YOUR REGULAR TITHES.
With the Coalition of Concerned Clergy, we have donated both cash and material supplies to support the city’s efforts with Glad Tidings Church and the distribution today at Heekin Park.

Long term rebuilding will mostly need cash donations to help people rebuild. This is true of our neighbors and our own building. We believe God provides enough for it all.

OUR BUILDING
Our building took on significant water during the initial flood. Thank you to those who stepped up to dry out the church so we can continue to use that space to bless people who need it. Volunteers and staff have spent well over 60 combined hours attending to the water inside our building this week.

We often serve as the location (and ironically the rain location) for local neighborhood events that support our community life. We were unable to provide that needed service this week until we cleaned out our own water. The building needs major rebuilds of both the roof and the retaining wall. We seek the Lord's provision for those needs and we are glad to have a clean, mostly dry space to offer in the meantime.

If you're heading out to one of our local response agencies, take someone from church with you and minister together.

We look forward to praying and worshiping together in the middle of it all tomorrow. We pray comfort for the families and friends of Matthew Morey and Stephanie Sallee, who died in the flood.
