Kevin's Daily Bread
Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door. Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience. (James 5:9-10) When trial and frustration press in, our natural human response is to lash out, complain, or harbor grudges against those around us. But the Holy Ghost brings conviction to our hearts, gently reminding us that the Judge is standing right at the door. God sees our spirit, and He calls us to a higher standard—one filled not with resentment, but with the transforming grace of Jesus Christ. The prophets of old faced immense hardship, persecution, and waiting, yet they stood firm because their eyes were fixed on God's promise. In the midst of suffering affliction, they chose patience. That same strength is available to every single one of us today, regardless of who we are or what we are walking through. When you feel like giving up, turn away from bitterness and lean fully into nothing but faith. Let the Holy Ghost strip away every grudge, fill your heart with Christ-centered hope, and grant you the patience to endure. God’s promise is sure: when you stand on faith, He will anchor your soul through every storm. Prayer: Heavenly Father, in Jesus' name, forgive us for every grudge, complaint, and bitter thought we have held against others. Convict us by Your Holy Spirit and wash us clean. Fill us with the patience of Your prophets and the love of Jesus Christ. When our circumstances feel overwhelming, help us to stand on nothing but faith, anchored in the blessed hope of Your presence. We surrender our hearts to You today. Amen.
