With so much excitement, Chabad of Alabama is proud to announce that Rabbi Aryeh and Chana Wells (née Laber), along with their son Yisroel, will be moving to Auburn, Alabama this coming fall to create a warm and vibrant home for the growing Jewish student population at Auburn University and the greater Auburn community. 🏫

This exciting new chapter would not be possible without the support, encouragement, and guidance of so many people along the way. A special thank you to the Marcus Family for their generous support of Chabad at Auburn, to Coach Bruce Pearl for championing this vision, to Rabbi Shalom Posner for laying the groundwork through Chabad on Wheels, and to Rabbi Avi Weinstein of Chabad on Campus for his guidance and partnership throughout the process.

Yesterday, our Super Daled class graduated! 🧑‍🎓👩‍🎓

Before Shavuot, when G-d was about to give the Torah to the Jewish people, He asked: “Who will be the guarantors of this precious gift?”

The Jewish people offered the Patriarchs, the prophets, and the elders, but G-d was not satisfied.

“The Jewish children will be our guarantors,” they finally pledged. Only then did G-d agree to give the Torah.

These JAHM Chai Tots graduates are the guarantors of that beautiful gift. They are heading into the world as strong, proud Jewish children, deeply connected to their identity, their Torah, and their heritage. We cannot wait to see the amazing things they will do! 💙

For the first time in American history, an American president has publicly encouraged Jewish Americans to observe a national Shabbat as part of America’s 250th anniversary celebration this coming Shabbat.

The proclamation stated,

“In special honor of 250 glorious years of American independence… Jewish Americans are encouraged to observe a national Sabbath.”

This Shabbat, we encourage

✨women and girls to light Shabbat candles at or before 7:23 PM

✨attend shul- synagogue- and connect to G-d and your community

✨Have a Shabbat dinner with your family and friends, complete with challah, wine for Kiddush and a delicous meal!

✨Disconnect from distractions and reconnect to your family, friends and relationship with G-d.

Just like anything precious, mezuzot and tefillin need to be checked from time to time to ensure they remain kosher. Inside each mezuzah and pair of tefillin is a handwritten parchment, carefully written by a sofer with holy letters. Over the years, heat, humidity, movement, or simple wear can cause letters to crack, fade, or become scratched. Even one damaged letter can affect the kosher status. Having mezuzot and tefillin checked regularly helps ensure that these special mitzvot continue to be fulfilled properly and brings continued spiritual protection and blessing to the home and the person wearing them.

Happy Mother’s Day 💕

📸 : Mother’s Day picnic

In Torah, the first woman is called Chava — “mother of all living” — not because she birthed everyone, but because she embodied the power to nurture life.

Whether you have children, grandchildren, students, friends, or community you care for, you carry that same power. As women you bring life, wisdom, and chesed into the world

Eishet Chayil, “A Woman of Valor.” It doesn’t praise her for having children. It praises her for strength, wisdom, kindness, and how “she opens her hand to the poor.” Proverbs 31

Some of us are mothers. Some are aunts, teachers, friends, daughters, and mentors. All of us shape the next generation through our words, our care, and our example.

Every act of nurturing is partnering with Hashem in creation. You are being partners in that holy work.
