INSPIRATION FOR THE WEEK —

Salvation is a gift God dearly wishes us to accept. It is not a yardstick against which He measures our worth. He has made it so simple. So, will we accept?

This past Wednesday, some of the 1st-6th graders of our parish attended the first 'Summer Youth Night' of the year! After a nice meal, they competed against each other in various yard games/competitions. Congratulations to team "Green Dragons" for earning the gold medals! We ended the evening with a period of prayer- thanking God for summer and asking Him for help to grow in faith and good habits this season, especially while away from Youth Catechesis.

The next Summer Youth Night will be on June 10th! All 7th-12th graders are invited to attend a Bonfire Luau from 6-8 pm.🌺🔥

Please keep the youth of our parish in your prayers throughout the summer!

Virtues, EXPLAINED!
“Piety denotes the reverence which we give to our faith and to our country,” writes St. Thomas Aquinas. “And since God is the Father of all, the worship of God is also called piety.”

QUESTION OF THE WEEK — This past weekend in the Gospel reading, the resurrected Jesus sends the disciples forth equipped with the power of the Holy Spirit to forgive or retain sins. Does forgiving others come easily to you?

Today, we observe two meaningful occasions: Memorial Day and the memorial of Blessed Mary, Mother of the Church. As we remember those who gave their lives in service to our country, we also turn to Mary, Mother of the Church, asking her to pray for us and for all who have sacrificed for our freedom.

This weekend, we celebrate Pentecost, often called the birthday of the Church. Jesus refers to the Holy Spirit as the “Advocate.” The Latin word for lawyer is “advocatus.” Like a lawyer, the Holy Spirit defends and guides us. So, when you’re in trouble, don’t forget — ask for your lawyer, and do what he tells you.
See you at Mass!

Virtues, EXPLAINED!
The virtue of loyalty is closely linked to the virtue of obedience, wherein we freely submit ourselves to rightful authority. We are called to be loyal to our bishops, to Scripture and Tradition, to the teaching authority of the Church, and to the Christian way of life.
