Blessing for Harvest —

Thank you, Lord, for the growth we have seen this season. Bless our harvest and those who labor to bring us nourishment. May Your provision be known, Your pruning be sure, Your preservation total. Prosper the work of our hands, Lord, in Your goodness.

Amen.

Virtues, EXPLAINED!
All human beings have a body, just as all human beings have a soul. Because of original sin, the inclinations of the body are often at odds with the well-being of the soul. Through the virtue of chastity, these inclinations are aligned, or integrated.

QUESTION OF THE WEEK — Jesus taught that love of God and love of neighbor are the foundation of the Jewish law and the prophets. How does this two-fold commandment inspire you to live the Christian life?

INSPIRATION FOR THE WEEK —

Jesus gives us the greatest commandment: love God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind. When we do that, the rest comes naturally, and we love others as they should be loved. So, give him everything — and let your life be love.

NEXT WEEKEND!

Please bring framed pictures of your departed loved ones to be placed on the parish's "ofrenda". This is an altar that will be set up in the back of the church to remember and honor our deceased family and friends. Pictures can be brought and placed on the ofrenda Saturday night or Sunday morning. The ofrenda will remain in the church throughout the month of November as a reminder for us to pray for those beloved souls.

This weekend at Mass, we'll hear about how Jesus taught that love of God and love of neighbor are the foundation of the Jewish law and the prophets. How does this twofold commandment inspire you to live the Christian life?

See you at Mass!

Fun Fact: God is good! We encounter His mercy and love in confession, where His grace covers our sins and we leave with a clean soul.

Virtues, EXPLAINED!
Perseverance is unique because without it, we cannot grow in any of the other virtues. If we cannot persevere, we cannot carry the cross.

QUESTION OF THE WEEK — In the second reading this past Sunday, we learned that Paul speaks in gratitude for the faith of the Thessalonians and the presence of the Holy Spirit in their midst. What are you thankful for this week?

LIVE THE LITURGY -

The Pharisees try to trick Jesus into starting a political revolution. They don’t realize he came to start a revolution of the heart, not the state. God’s image is stamped on our soul, but still the world tries to claim us. Revolt! You belong to God.
