Every single one of us carries questions that keep us up at night. As Christians, we look around at a world that is broken, hurting, and confused, and we naturally ask: How did we get here? Why is there so much suffering? Is there a purpose to my pain, and is there any real hope for tomorrow? To answer the deep questions of our present, we have to travel all the way back to our past. We must look at what I call 'The Genesis Effect.'

In the first three chapters of the Bible, God lays out the entire framework of human history through three monumental movements: Creation, Corruption, and Redemption. In Genesis 1 and 2, we see the beautiful architecture of God’s perfect design—Creation. But by Genesis 3, the fracture occurs. Sin enters the picture, and we witness the devastating fallout of Corruption, a disease that still plagues our hearts and our headlines today. Yet, right there in the wreckage of the Fall, God didn't abandon us; He promised Redemption.

The Genesis Effect tells us that while we were made for perfection, we are currently broken by sin. But praise God, the story doesn't end in the ruins of Genesis 3! There is a glorious ending of hope. The Genesis Effect is powerful, but it is completely overcome by the power of the Gospel. On the cross, Jesus answered every question of our brokenness by fulfilling what the Apostle Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 5:21: 'For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.' Jesus took the total sum of our Corruption, bore it in His own body, and gave us His perfect Creation in return.

This morning, if you are looking for answers, look to the cross. Let's dive into the Word and discover how the ultimate remedy for the Genesis Effect is found in Jesus Christ.

"The Beauty of the Thorn"

Today, we are diving into a powerful and deeply comforting passage from 2 Corinthians 12:1–10, in a message titled, "The Beauty of the Thorn." In our culture, we often do everything we can to avoid pain, hide our flaws, and escape discomfort. But this morning, we are going to look at how God uses the difficult, sharp "thorns" in our lives not to break us, but to beautifully reshape us and draw us closer to Him.In this text, the Apostle Paul shares his own deeply personal struggle with a "thorn in the flesh." While he pleaded with God to take it away, he received a life-changing promise instead: "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."
