Rest In Peace to a lifelong faithful volunteer and supporter of our cemetery, Nancy Monroe. Nancy's grandparents helped found Oak Mound Cemetery in 1901 and Nancy herself served as our secretary in recent years. She will be missed.

The annual meeting of the Oak Mound Cemetery Association was held on February 14, 2026.

The following officers were elected to serve for the coming year:
PRESIDENT: David Swanson
VICE PRESIDENT: Trent Gilbery
SECRETARY: Nancy Valenzuela
TREASURER: Alex Swanson

Some long-awaited tree trimming/removal work was completed yesterday. Looks great, and now to replace some of these old giants with new trees.

Florence Klingensmith was buried in Oak Mound Cemetery on September 7, 1933.

She was the first woman to become a licensed pilot in Clay County, MN and the entire state of ND.

Her parents and grandparents helped found the cemetery and also Oak Mound Church.

In 2015 Oak Mound 4-H Club built a monument on her grave.
