Oak Mound Cemetery

Oak Mound Cemetery Organized on June 27, 1901 in Kragnes Township, MN, Oak Mound Cemetery is the resting place of over 325 individuals.

The former Oak Mound Church, which stood in front of the cemetery for 119 years, closed on July 31, 2011.

Rest In Peace to a lifelong faithful volunteer and supporter of our cemetery, Nancy Monroe. Nancy's grandparents helped found Oak Mound Cemetery in 1901 and Nancy herself served as our secretary in recent years. She will be missed.

This is probably the most detailed picture we have of the original cemetery gate—if you zoom in real close you can see it says Oak Mound Cemetery on the arch.

Florence Klingensmith was buried in Oak Mound Cemetery on September 7, 1933.

She was the first woman to become a licensed pilot in Clay County, MN and the entire state of ND.

Her parents and grandparents helped found the cemetery and also Oak Mound Church.

In 2015 Oak Mound 4-H Club built a monument on her grave.
