St. John's is a vibrant, welcoming faith community, known for radical hospitality, inclusion, and pro All are welcome. Sunday worship at 8 & 10 a.m.

Located in Montclair at the corner of Montclair Avenue and Chestnut Streets, we strive to live out our name, that we might truly be sharers of the Good News. It doesn’t matter to us whether you’ve never been to church before, have been away for a while or might be a longtime Episcopalian. It doesn’t matter to us that you might be from another Christian tradition, from another faith altogether, or might simply be seeking a place of peace. Some people know us from our community outreach. Others attend meetings in our building, enjoy our gardens or take advantage of parish programs. Many come for our celebration of the Holy Eucharist—every week Holy Eucharist is celebrated on Sunday. Our goal is to continue building a community that is diverse and loving, filled with celebration and joy. Join us when you can and help us continue to welcome all.

This year’s Dia De Los Mu***os ofrenda is filled with images of our beloved departed and some of their favorite foods. Forgot to bring something this past Sunday? You can add to the ofrenda on All Saints Day by bringing a photo or adding to the paper chain of names.

Help us spread the welcome! What should our new sidewalk chalkboard sign say? Share your ideas in the comments! (Funny and serious both encouraged)

Artists and folks with great handwriting: Contact our priest to volunteer. We’ll change the sign every week or two, so there’s always room for new ideas

On All Saint's Sunday we'll gather after the service to learn about why we offer many of the ministries we do. We will walk through an online poverty simulation together that helps highlight the tough choices people have to make when they live paycheck to paycheck. Children and teens are especially welcome for this session!

All Hallows' Tide is a sacred three-day season that includes All Hallows’ Eve (October 31), All Saints’ Day (November 1), and All Souls’ Day (November 2). Rooted in ancient Christian tradition and dispersed across multiple cultures, this time invites us to remember the great cloud of witnesses who have gone before us, celebrate the saints, and lift up the memory of the faithful departed. Join us for our various celebrations next week!

Stephen Ministries is celebrating 50 years of offering care to those going through difficult and transitional seasons in life! Three members of our Stephen Ministry team got a chance to meet with and learn from Janine Ushe, the Stephen Ministries Director of Operations at a recent anniversary event. We are so grateful for all of the ways our Stephen Leaders and Ministers care for this community.

This year we brought our pet blessing to the Montclair NJ Farmers’ Market ! It was a beautiful weekend filled with blessing a whole bunch of dogs, one brave cat, and even a stuffed teddy bear! We are collecting used towels/blankets and laundry detergent for local shelters for one more week, so bring them to church with you, if you can.

This past Sunday we dreamed together as a parish, in preparation for our 125th anniversary. This young person’s sweatshirt was a beautiful reminder that the dreams we set into motion today become the reality for the next generation.
