Kid Village is open for infants-3rd graders during 9 & 10:30 AM services. meets during 9 & 10:30 AM services for students in grades 4-8. The Village office phone number is 815-467-2265. We also have a church group page, just search for "Village Friends". Think of this group as a place for our church family to post prayer requests, praises, needs, as well as provide mutual support to one another.

🎉 More Times. More Fun. More Village in Shorewood!

We’re excited to announce that starting Sunday, September 13, Shorewood is adding a SECOND service time! 🙌

That means more opportunities to be in community, connect, grow, and do life together. We’re creating more opportunities for people and families in Shorewood to experience a church that’s real, welcoming, and NEVER boring.

On Sunday, 9/13 we’re moving to TWO services:

Galatians 5 reminds us what it looks like to walk by the Spirit instead of being led by our own body/desires. When we surrender our lives to Jesus, the Holy Spirit begins producing something in us that we could never produce on our own.

Love.❤️ Joy.🤩 Peace.😌 Patience.⏳
Kindness.☺️ Goodness.👍🏼 Faithfulness.🤞🏼Gentleness.❤️‍🩹 Self-control.🗣️

The beautiful thing about the body of Christ is that we don’t all look the same. We have different gifts, different strengths, different personalities, and even different ways that God uses us!

But we were NEVER meant to compare our calling or compete with one another.

We are meant to work TOGETHER! 🙏🏼

Just as every person brings something unique to the body of Christ, we each have a role to play in advancing the Kingdom of God. Your gifts matter. Your fruit matters. And when we allow the Holy Spirit to lead us, our differences DO not and WILL not divide us, they strengthen us. 💙

“But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things! What a good, fun day at our Minooka Mobile Food Pantry!

We are so grateful for the opportunity to serve our community and help meet the needs of 65 families. 💙

God is at work at Sheridan Correctional Center! 🙌

Every Saturday, our weekend services kick off behind the walls of Sheridan Correctional Center and WOW, is God on the move!

We love serving the men at Sheridan through our God Behind Bars ministry, creating a place where men can meet Jesus, grow in their faith, and discover that their past doesn’t have to define their future.

And one of our favorite parts? Hearing what happens after they walk through those gates.

MEET JOSH.

Josh was part of our Sheridan Correctional Center campus, where our Church Behind Bars ministry is creating space for men to discover that their past doesn’t have to define their future.

Recently, Josh was released, and we’re celebrating what God is doing in his life!
Today, Josh is working as an Outreach Specialist with Community Health Partnership of Illinois, connecting communities, nonprofits, and community organizations to bring vital health resources directly to the people who need them most.

He helps coordinate outreach events featuring a mobile medical unit, a fully functioning doctor’s office on wheels, and spends his weeks out in the community, connecting with people, sharing resources, and helping make free and affordable healthcare more accessible to underserved individuals.

Josh isn’t just rebuilding his own life. He’s now using his life to serve others and help build healthier communities.

WOW, GOD! 🙌

This is why we love serving inside the walls of Sheridan Correctional Center. Stories like Josh’s never get old, and we are so blessed to play a small part in the work God continues to do at Sheridan.

Our goal isn’t simply to reach people while they’re incarcerated. It’s to walk alongside them as they discover their identity in Christ, prepare for what’s next, and step into a new life filled with purpose.

Josh, we’re cheering you on, we love you, and we can’t wait to see all that God continues to do through your life!

CAMPUS SPOTLIGHT💡| SENECA

We are SO grateful and incredibly blessed for our Seneca Campus! 🫶🏻

Seneca campus has grown BEYOND what our current worship space can handle, and we are thankful to have a new space for Sunday Morning Worship at Seneca Grade School South Campus starting in just a few weeks! (Sept 20th, 9 & 10:30 AM)

But the growth and impact goes WAY beyond the numbers! Each number represents a name of a life being impacted by God and his goodness. 💙 our Seneca Campus Pastor Patrick Ugolini said it like this:

“The Village Seneca Campus gets to be a growing place for God's Holy Spirit to work in this community and meet people right where they are with the transformational love and forgiveness of Jesus. Everyone has a role to play and a next step to take in relationship with God, and His people in this community.”

On Sunday, we celebrated baptism, and it was powerful! Baptism isn’t just about one person’s decision—it’s about the ripple effect. When someone says “yes” to Jesus, it impacts everyone around them. CORE VALUE HIGHLIGHT: PRAY FIRST 🙏🏼

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be highlighting each of our new and improved Core Values because it’s SO important that everyone knows the kind of church we are and what we stand for. 🤍

So… PRAY FIRST:
‘Before we plan, decide, or act, we SEEK God. Prayer isn’t our last resort, it’s our first response.’

How often do we try to figure things out on our own before bringing them to God? But Proverbs 3:5–6 reminds us to “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take.”

When we pray first, we’re choosing to trust God BEFORE trusting our own plans. BEFORE the decisions. BEFORE the next step. BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE! 💙

Pray first. Seek God. Trust Him always🙏🏼

What is church really all about?

In this message, we unpack the heart, mission, and vision of The Village Christian Church as we continue our series “Follow the Arrows.” If you’ve ever wondered what we believe, why we do what we do, or how you fit into it all—this message is for you.

From Scripture as our guide (2 Timothy 3:16, Matthew 28:19–20), to equipping people to grow, to everybody serving, everybody praying, and living a faith that is bold, fun, and anything but boring—this message lays out the DNA of who we are as a church.

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” — Hebrews 13:8

There is something so powerful about having a Father who NEVER changes.

No matter the season you’re walking through. No matter how much time has passed. No matter where life takes you...He remains the same. His love NEVER changes. His goodness NEVER changes. His promises NEVER change! 💙

When everything around us feels uncertain, God is our constant.

That’s why one of our core values is: The Bible Is Our Guide. 📖
Because when we need direction, truth, encouragement, or a reminder of who God is, we can go straight to His Word. It points us back to the One who has always been faithful and always will be.

Let this be a reminder to you today and everyday.
Jesus is who He says He is! 🙏🏼
