The first fruits and vegetables of the season are growing in the Church of the Pines Grow & Give Garden!

Our Garden is off to a wonderful start with beans (pole and bush), broccoli, carrots, cucumbers, onions, kale, radishes, zucchini (green and yellow), butternut squash, beets, green peppers, and a variety of herbs, including basil, thyme, marjoram, rosemary, and cilantro.

These fresh vegetables will help support our efforts to increase food security in our community by providing produce to those in need throughout the growing season. Produce will be donated to the Lakeland Pantry throughout the summer and into early fall.

A heartfelt thank you to Sara Kozeluh, John Calder, Karen Calder, and the entire Grow & Give Garden Care Team for their hard work, dedication, and countless hours of planting, watering, weeding, and nurturing the Garden. Your efforts are helping us live Christ's love in a very tangible way.

Please keep the Garden and all who tend it in your prayers as we look forward to a bountiful harvest in the months ahead!

We'll be posting Garden updates here on Facebook, so be sure to FOLLOW our Church of the Pines page.

The lilacs are in bloom at Church of the Pines!

Their beautiful blossoms and sweet fragrance remind us of God's promise of new life, hope, and renewal. As you pass by, we invite you to stop, enjoy the beauty of creation, and take a moment to reflect on the blessings that surround us each day.

"Consider how the wild flowers grow..." — Gospel of Luke 12:27

All are welcome to come and enjoy looking at the lilacs and their fragrance!

For more than a decade, the members of the Deborah Circle of United Women in Faith at Church of the Pines have faithfully supported Harbor House in Superior through their annual collection of much-needed items for women and families.

Recently, Patty and Tom Frandy delivered this year's donations, including cleaning supplies, personal care products, sheet sets, pillows, towels, washcloths, hot pads, jar openers, coat hangers, and gift cards. The boxes were filled with practical items that help make a house feel more like a home.

Harbor House is a ministry of Faith United Methodist Church in Superior that provides transitional housing and support services for women and children experiencing homelessness. Its mission is to offer a safe, supportive environment where families can work toward stability, self-sufficiency, and a brighter future.

The Deborah Circle chooses Harbor House as a mission partner because it is a United Methodist ministry and because supporting women and children has long been a focus of United Women in Faith. Through the generosity of Circle members and friends, this annual outreach continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to this year's collection and to Patty and Tom Frandy for delivering these gifts of hope and care.

The 2026 Wisconsin Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church is underway in the Madison area! Pastor Mark Gilbert, Sue Loeffler, and Noah Lottig are representing Church of the Pines as they join United Methodists from across Wisconsin for worship, learning, fellowship, and the work of the Church.

The conference got off to a spirited start with a lively welcome from the University of Wisconsin Marching Band, complete with plenty of audience participation and Badger enthusiasm!

This year's theme, "Practicing Hope," is based on Romans 5:3-5 and invites participants to reflect on how God nurtures hope through faith, perseverance, and love.

Please keep Pastor Mark, Sue, and Noah in your prayers as they participate in the conference and bring new ideas and inspiration back to Church of the Pines.
