WE UNDERSTAND OUR ASSIGNMENT

Greetings, people of God.
At Rock of Faith Ministries, we understand that every ministry does not have the same assignment.
God has not called us to pattern our ministry after what others believe a church or a pastor is supposed to look like.
He has given us an assignment, and our responsibility is to be faithful to what He has placed in our hands.
Through Rockin’ on Wheels Mobile Ministry, our missions, evangelism, and outreach arm, we continue to take ministry beyond the walls and into the streets of the City of Milwaukee.
We have been blessed to work with pastors and ministries throughout our city as we feed the hungry, pray for people, share the Gospel, visit the sick, and minister to individuals and families where they are.
Through Men’s Talk Global, God has allowed us to bring together more than 15 pastors and ministries throughout Milwaukee and surrounding communities for the purpose of reaching, strengthening, healing, and developing men.
We understand our assignment.
God has called Rock of Faith Ministries to be a bridge.
A bridge between ministries.
A bridge between the church and the community.
A bridge between pastors who may serve differently but love the same God. And a bridge that helps carry the Gospel beyond the walls of the traditional church and into the lives of people who may never walk through our doors.
The fruit speaks for itself.
Over the past year and a half, more than 100 men and women have received Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. More than 1,000 nourishing meals have been served to people living on and navigating the streets of Milwaukee, and thousands of people have been prayed for and ministered to.
We don’t share these numbers to boast about what we have done. We share them because souls matter, people matter, and the assignment matters.
We recognize that our ministry may not look like everybody else’s ministry. Our pastor may not pastor the way everybody believes a pastor should pastor. But we have learned that when God gives you an assignment, your responsibility is not to make your assignment look like somebody else’s. Your responsibility is to obey God.
We are grateful that God has allowed our pastor and ministry to serve faithfully within the Church of God in Christ, and we honor the leadership, heritage, structure, and fellowship of the denomination in which God has allowed us to serve.
At the same time, we understand that our denominational affiliation does not limit our Kingdom assignment.
We believe that the blood of Jesus Christ that saved us is the same blood that saves our brothers and sisters beyond denominational lines. Therefore, when God provides an opportunity to work with other believers, pastors, churches, and ministries who confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, we reserve the freedom to walk through those doors and serve the Kingdom together.
We can honor our denomination without being confined by denominational walls.
We can respect spiritual leadership without abandoning the assignment God has placed in our hands. We can serve under leadership and still faithfully steward the vision God has given us. And we respectfully ask those who have been entrusted with leadership over us to recognize, respect, and make room for the assignment God has placed upon this ministry. What may look unconventional through the lens of tradition may be exactly where God has called another ministry to labor.
Leadership should never require us to diminish the work God is doing in order to fit a particular model of ministry. Rather, when there is biblical fruit, souls are being reached, people are being served, and Jesus Christ is being lifted up, we should recognize that work, pray for it, strengthen it, and thank God that another part of the Body is fulfilling its assignment.
We gladly serve. We willingly submit to godly leadership. We respect the houses and assignments God has entrusted to others. And we believe that same respect should be extended to the assignment God has entrusted to us.
Submission does not require the surrender of Our assignment.
Honor does not require the abandonment of vision. And denominational fellowship should never become a barrier to Kingdom fellowship.
There is room in the Kingdom for the pastor behind the pulpit and the pastor walking the streets.
There is room for the established sanctuary and the mobile ministry.
There is room for the local church and for ministries that build bridges between churches, pastors, communities, and people.
Different assignments do not mean different Gods.
To everyone who has prayed for Pastor Carlos and Lady Evelyn Christian, supported Rock of Faith Ministries, served through Rockin’ on Wheels Mobile Ministry, participated in Men’s Talk Global, donated, volunteered, prepared meals, prayed with someone, or helped us carry this vision, THANK YOU.
And to those who may not understand our assignment, we simply ask that before criticizing what looks different, questioning our pastor’s calling, or drawing conclusions about his anointing, integrity, or the work God has entrusted to his hands, look at the fruit and pray that God will continue to use every ministry in this city according to the assignment He has given it.
We know what God has called us to do.
We know whom God has called us to serve. And as long as God continues opening doors, Rock of Faith Ministries will continue taking ministry beyond the walls, building bridges, reaching people, feeding people, praying for people, and most importantly, pointing souls to Jesus Christ.
We are not trying to be everybody else’s church.
We are committed to being the ministry God called us to be.
