Reverend David Kirkland and his wife Elaine joined us this morning for the worship hour. David serves as the Campus Minister for the Baptist Collegiate Ministries (BCM) at Georgia College and State University. He has been a BCM Campus Minister for 30 years with the Georgia Baptist Mission Board. Reverend Kirkland was our pulpit guest today and his message was riveting and very thought provoking. It was inspired by the fourth chapter from the book of Jonah. The subject was “Jonah’s Anger at the Lord’s Compassion.” You can view his entire sermon on this page in the previous post. Reverend Kirkland is a wonderful speaker and we encourage you to watch it and listen to how he makes this Old Testament chapter come alive. We believe it will be a blessing to you. ✝️🙏

First Baptist Church member Clifton Cook was honored this morning for graduating from Georgia Military College. We are thrilled to announce that he has also received word that he has received an appointment to attend the United State Military Academy at West Point! Clifton had applied two previous times but was turned down. Clifton trusted GOD and never lost his faith and on the third try, he was accepted. He has been a part of Hank and Cindy Griffeth’s College Ministry and is a member of our choir. Our congregation is so happy for this terrific young man. Please join us and keep Clifton in your thoughts and prayers as he starts this exciting new chapter in his life. ✝️🙏🇺🇸
