Everyone had a terrific time at tonight’s Chili Cook Off and Bingo Night! We had 10 entries in the contest and Kathy Stewart won the grand prize. Cindy Griffeth’s chili was the runner up. Hank Griffeth was the MC for the evening and he did a fantastic job. We had a good crowd that included many of our College Students. Everyone enjoyed chili and cornbread with ice cream for desert. Fun, Fellowship and Good Eats…..A Winning Combination! Thank You to everyone who participated. It was a wonderful evening. ✝️🙏🇺🇸

September Missions will focus on collecting for shoeboxes and backpacks. Please bring small canned goods with pop styled tops and small toys. Please put these items in the box outside the Church office or in the vestibule.

You can sign up to fill a shoebox and / or a backpack, signup sheets and information can be found in the vestibule, or hallway behind the Sanctuary and in Fellowship Hall.

Our worship service this morning was overflowing with positive energy and enthusiasm. The Chancel Choir and the congregation sang six hymns and Julianna Valcheff was the soloist during the choirs performance of “God On The Mountain.” We have an extremely talented choir and they performed all of the hymns beautifully. They always do! 🙂
Pastor Jeff’s sermon today was entitled “Walking on the Water.” It comes from the book of Matthew Chapter 14 verses 22 to 33. It describes Jesus walking on the water in the Sea of Galilee. Peter asks Jesus to let him walk on the water too. He initially does walk on the water but he was afraid and began to sink. Jesus saved him and then asks him “why did you doubt?” The story encourages believers to trust God and move forward even when facing uncertain or difficult situations. It was a wonderful sermon that is very relatable to our own lives.
After the service, we all gathered in our Fellowship Hall to enjoy a delicious lunch of Good Ole Southern Comfort Food. Thank You to everyone who brought a covered dish.
