A BIG thank you to those who work at Baldwin County Animal Control and Services - especially that they “Keep On Keeping On” with the love and care and attention they give to the animals in their care IN SPITE of being so overcrowded and having insufficient supplies.

It is a blessing for us to be able to help a little. We invite you to do the same, showing your love for God’s creatures.

Happy Pride Month from the Bridge UMC!

This month, we celebrate the beautiful diversity of God’s creation, and we are so incredibly thankful to be a church and a part of a connection in the UMC where all really does mean all.

As United Methodists, we affirm human sexuality as a sacred gift, and we are called to expand our understanding of God’s radical hospitality. We are reminded of the ever widening scope of God's mercy, reaching out to all (and especially those once deemed unworthy), in Peter’s transformative words at Cornelius’s house:

“You yourselves know that it is improper for a Jew to associate with or to visit an outsider, but God has shown me that I should not call anyone profane or unclean.” (Acts 10:28)

We believe there is room for everyone at Christ's table and in the family of God, and we are striving every day to grow as a community where that is true for our LGBTQ siblings, who have for so long been dehumanized and told they aren’t welcome.

So this month, and every day, we are honored to walk alongside you!

Looking for a meaningful way to connect and grow this summer?

Join us at The Bridge for our Summer Book Study as we dive into Reuben P. Job’s Three Simple Rules: A Wesleyan Way of Living. Led by Rev. Dr. Willis Moore—one of our own Bridge members and a retired UMC minister—we’ll explore the foundational General Rules for Methodist societies: Do no harm, do good, and stay in love with God.

Whether you're looking to deepen your faith or just want to engage in great conversation with new friends, we hope you'll join us! We kick off on Sunday, June 21st!

This summer, Georgia Interfaith Power & Light (GIPL) is going on a statewide journey tracing how energy is made, priced, and felt in Georgia communities. The Bridge United Methodist Church, in partnership with GIPL, invites you to a vital community conversation on Thursday, June 25, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Wesley House!

Together, we will discuss the proposed methane gas pipeline expansion just south of Milledgeville, the growing impact of data centers, and the reality of local energy burdens. Come hear why faith leaders are raising concerns, how these issues connect to the broader fight for energy justice, and what actions you can take.

A light dinner will be provided. If you plan to attend, please sign up at the following link: https://gipl.org/events/soa/pt-milledgeville

We want to give a special congratulations to our very own Alexis Keeney, who last week not only graduated from GCSU but was honored as both the Class Valedictorian and Academic Scholar!

Alexis has been an indispensable part of life at the Bridge since we began, and while we will certainly miss her when she moves this summer to pursue a Master of Social Work at UNC Chapel Hill, we know she will bring so many gifts and graces to her new home!

We love you, Alexis, and we are so proud of you!

This Sunday, we dove into Acts 1 and heard about Jesus' commission for his disciples to be witnesses.

We talked about "witness trees" like the famous American elm that survived the Oklahoma City bombing. It still carries the scars of the blast, but today, it stands as a symbol of survival.

Sometimes our most powerful witness comes from our healed wounds. When you share how Jesus met you in despair, loss, or anxiety, you show the world that resurrection is real. What story of healing can you share with someone this week?

This Sunday, we were encouraged by Paul's example preaching at the Aereopagus in Acts 17. We considered how evangelism isn't about winning an argument; it’s about locating the ache! May we all be encouraged by the voice of God calling us to find our deepest longings filled by Jesus and share that life with others!
