Psalm 19:1-6

“The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they reveal knowledge.
They have no speech, they use no words;
no sound is heard from them.
Yet their voice goes out into all the earth,
their words to the ends of the world.
In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun.

This past Sunday, multiple groups of mentors and mentees met for the first time to kick off our Foundations of Discipleship study! 📘

Over the next 16 weeks, these groups will learn how to build a strong biblical foundation for their life. This includes training on the most common questions every Christian has (salvation, the inspiration of the Bible, temptation, the will of God, etc.); examining the Four Core Foundations of Discipleship (the WORSHIP, WORD, WILL, and WORK of God); and discovering what it means to submit every area of your life to the Lordship of Christ. 📙

God desires each of us to walk closely with Him and has given us the guidebook for this life. Through studying Scripture together, these groups will help new and old believers alike to gain confidence in what God has planned for their life and to equip them to help others do the same! We can't wait to see the progress of these groups and growth of these believers over the next 16 weeks! 📗

This past Sunday, we celebrated our mothers for Mother's Day with a message from Pastor David on Psalm 127. Each lady left the service with a special gift bag containing a notebook, pen, and glass jar with verses of scripture inscribed on each. ❤️

We also ended Sunday's service with the acceptance and celebration of a new member into our local church body! Welcome to the family, Bryan! 🎉

If you haven't gotten the chance to hear Bryan's testimony:
On January 7th of this year, Bryan underwent a biopsy and was diagnosed with stage 4 lymphoma. He was given a year to live and treatment options seemed grim.
After many years of wandering from the faith, the trials and trouble created by this new diagnosis and the likelihood of a long road of treatment had Bryan seeking hope in the Lord. With the invitation and prompting of his son, Nate, Bryan began attending Sunday morning services at Buckeye Baptist, bringing along his young daughter with him.
Bryan's trouble over these past 4 months has brought him close to God; and as Bryan has drawn near to God, God has drawn near to him (James 4:8).
This Thursday (5/14), Bryan gets to "ring the bell" at his cancer treatment center. This signifies that he has completed his course of chemotherapy and is officially in REMISSION!!! 🎉🎉🎉
We are so thankful to have witnessed God's healing in Bryan's life - physical healing with the remission of his cancer, emotional healing with restored hope and connection with his family, and most of all, spiritually with his salvation and reconnection to the Lord!!! 🎉🎉🎉

Please make sure to keep Bryan and his family in your prayers! Celebrate and encourage him as a new brother in our church family at Buckeye Baptist! ❤️

We are looking forward to celebrating and honoring the many mothers who attend our church this Sunday at the 11:00am service. Moms - thank you for all you do! We are so thankful for the faithful example and encouragement you provide other women in our church! 💌

This past Sunday, Pastor Samuel took time to honor our 2026 graduates and delivered a special message from Proverbs 3:5-6 & Romans 12:1-2. 👩‍🎓👨‍🎓

Each grad was called to the front and recognized for their achievement, shared their next steps (college, career, etc), and shared their favorite Bible verse. 📖

Ella's favorite verse: Proverbs 3:5-6
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths."

Emma's favorite verse: Ecclesiastes 3:1
"There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens"

Lizzie's favorite verse: Ecclesiastes 3:11
"He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end."

Austin's favorite verse: Lamentations 3:22-27
"Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, 'The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.' Last evening was a special event as we celebrated all the women in honor of Mother’s Day. It was a great turnout with a delicious dinner catered by Tazikis. Thank you to all the men who came out and served the ladies.

A wonderful fellowship and encouraging message from our special guest speaker: Natalie Watson, who shared her testimony of how God is using her to shine his light through her, and encourage others during the “storms” in her life. She encouraged the ladies that even though our earthly bodies will faileth, we have the hope of knowing that God is the strength of our hearts and portion forever.

“ My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart,and my portion forever”
