Last evening was the kickoff to the Labor weekend! The Lord blessed us with perfect weather as friends and family came together to have a yummy picnic dinner ( thank you to all who brought a dish to share) played outdoor games and fellowship.

Welcome to the first Thursday in September!

Yesterday evening was the last series of “Jesus is calling”. Throughout the series, Pastor Samuel and Davey preached about 11 commands that Jesus is calling us to follow:

•Love the Lord - Matthew 22:23-38,
•Love others - Matthew 22:39-40,
•Forgive- Matthew 18:21-35,
•Give -Luke 6:30-38,
•Fast- Matthew 6:16-18
•Pray - Luke 11:9-13,
•Abide- John 15:1-7,
•Not worry- Matthew 7:25-34 ,
•Be Salt and Light - Matthew 5:13-16 ,
•Share the Gospel- Matthew 28:18-20 and
•Believe- John 3:16-17.

Each week we were given a challenge and each following Wednesday we shared with others in our small groups about that challenge before the service.

Last evening Pastor Samuel wanted us to reflect on all the “Jesus is calling” challenges and asked what stood out the most for each individual.

11 individuals got the opportunity to share what “Jesus is calling” challenges spoke to them:

Aja - Not to worry.
Pam- Love the Lord.
Melinda- Abide.
Josh - Fasting.
Robert/Bobby- Praying
Dru- Forgive
Beth- Share the Gospel
Lori- Praying
Brian- Praying, Abiding, and not to worry
Gary- Praying, ABIDE, fasting
Bobbie - Love others

All of the “Jesus is calling” challenges were encouraging and great reminders, but most importantly they challenged us to be more like CHRIST in our everyday life.

Back in February a young lady became a member at Buckeye Baptist Church. Driving 30 minutes one way on Sundays and Wednesday evening, Leah’s faithfulness and devotion unto the Lord has truly grown. This morning, she took a step of faith and played the drums on the worship team for the very first time.

It’s so wonderful to see God working in the lives of His people as they serve Him using the talents and gifts He has given them.

“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.” - Colossians 3:23-24

Last Wednesday was the second to the last Jesus is Calling series message. Pastor Samuel challenged each of us to ponder all of the Jesus is Calling challenges we have learned over this summer and how we as Christ followers apply them in our daily lives.

How can we Love the Lord with all our heart, Love others, Forgive others, Show God’s mercy, Give, Draw near to the Lord, Fast, Pray for one another, Abide in God’s word, Pray when we are feeling worried/Don’t worry, Encourage others by sharing scripture/Being Salt and Light, Go and Share the Gospel, and BELIEVE.

Welcome to Friday Eve!

Last night was Davey’s last time preaching before he and his wife go back to Indiana for school.

He shared with us how Jesus is calling us to Share the Gospel -Matthew 28:18-20 “And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”

This is well known as "The Great Commission."
We are Christ’s ambassadors and it’s up to us to spread the Gospel. We can be reminded that we don’t have to be afraid, God will open the doors and He will let the Holy Spirit guide us.
