💙 Happy Feast Day of St. John Paul II!

Today, we celebrate the life and legacy of a beloved saint who inspired generations to grow closer to Christ, live courageously in their faith, and never be afraid to say “yes” to God.

St. John Paul II had a special love for young people, reminding them of their important role in the life of the Church. May his example continue to inspire us all to live our faith boldly and follow Christ with open hearts!

💭 Did you know? St. John Paul II is the patron saint of our SCR CYO, and our youth ministry room is named in his honor! Pictured here is the mural of St. John Paul II in our JPII Room, located across from Vosbein Hall.

St. John Paul II, pray for us! 🙏

GOD IS SO GOOD! We’re excited to share some wonderful news about our SCR parishioner Alexa Schexnaildre and the ways God continues to work through her ministry!

Over the past 14 months, Alexa has given 33 talks, including leading a prison retreat for nearly 100 Catholic inmates at Hunt Correctional Center. What began as a new and uncertain experience became one of the most meaningful experiences of her life, reminding us how God can bring so much good out of difficult circumstances.

Alexa was invited to record a daily Scripture reflection on today’s Gospel reading for the Ascension Press app! 🙏 We’re so excited to see her sharing God’s Word in this way. The video is available for free, no subscription required!

🎥 Watch Alexa’s reflection here: https://forthegreaterpurpose.blog/2026/10/22/alexas-ascension-app-video-reflection/

We are grateful for Alexa’s faithful witness and for the ways she continues to share God’s Word with others. Please join us in celebrating this exciting news, and follow along on Alexa’s journey through her personal blog, where she shares more about how God can bring good out of suffering. ✨ Read more here: https://forthegreaterpurpose.blog/about-me/

✨ “HE IS HERE.” Are we truly taking in the incredible gift of the Eucharist?

On this episode of The Road to Rome, we’re reviewing Adore Him, a powerful film exploring the beauty of Eucharistic Adoration and Jesus’ real presence in the Blessed Sacrament.

🎬 Join us as we discuss powerful testimonies, the biblical connections between the Ark of the Covenant and the Eucharist, Eucharistic processions, and stories of healing and transformation.

🙏 One of the biggest reminders? Jesus is truly present, and He invites us to come closer. Sometimes, we don’t need to do more or say more. We simply need to bring people to Him and let Him work in their hearts.

Watch the full episode on YouTube and join us on the road to Rome as we reflect together on this beautiful question: "What does Eucharistic Adoration mean to you?" ✝️

We are thankful to everyone who helped make this evening possible. What a blessing to come together as a parish community to deepen our understanding of what we believe and why!

📸 | A weekend worth remembering!

October 8–11, our parish celebrated a special milestone with our very first Men’s ACTS Retreat! ❤️‍🔥

To the 24 men who took that step of faith, thank you for saying YES to the Lord, for showing up for one another, and for allowing God to work in your hearts. May the friendships formed, the faith strengthened, and the brotherhood built over this weekend continue to grow long after the retreat has ended.

Strong men of faith build stronger families, stronger communities, and a stronger Church. May you continue to lead with courage, love with intention, and walk boldly in the faith God has called you to live.

Brothers in Christ, this is only the beginning! ✝️

Let us continue to lift the Holy Father in prayer, asking the Lord to grant him a swift and complete recovery, renewed strength, and peace during this time of healing. May Our Blessed Mother watch over him and keep him under her loving mantle.

Please join us in praying for Pope Leo XIV’s recovery. Lord, hear our prayers. ❤️‍🩹✝️📿
