Consecration Sunday is September 27th. There will be one service at 9:30am with a celebratory brunch after worship.

Consecration Sunday is a day members of St. Matthew will dedicate their financial support in response to God’s love and generosity, and to support St. Matthew’s ministries to do God’s work in the world.

Next week, September 13th, RSVP cards will be distributed and collected at both worship services. Please check your calendars before then. If you will not be in worship next week and/or September 27th, please let the church office know and we will make sure you receive the cards you need, either the RSVP card or the Estimate of Generosity card.

For more details regarding Consecration Sunday, please see the Consecration Sunday letter that was emailed to you on July 21st, or at the link in the Shout Out, or printed copies in the narthex.

Our Evangelism and Communication Team is once again sponsoring the St. Matthew Advent Devotions. Everyone is invited to participate in the Advent journey by becoming a contributor, whether you have written a devotion in the past or not. All ages are welcome! The devotions are more than just a seasonal tradition... They are a spiritual anchor that provides a moment of stillness in a busy world, inviting us all to pause and reflect on the deeper meaning of the season.

The theme of the 2026 devotions comes from the Advent hymn, ““Hark! A Thrilling Voice Is Sounding!” (ELW 246). Each devotion can be based on the suggested Reference, but you may, instead, choose a different Scripture reading, poem, hymn or source of inspiration. Devotions are usually 2-3 paragraphs long, and may include a prayer. We ask that all devotions be emailed to Beth Johnson ([email protected]), no later than November 15.

Volunteers are needed for God's Work. Our Hands. to pack meals for Rise Against Hunger. If you'd like to participate, sign up here or on the posters in the Narthex.
There will also be opportunities to learn how to loom hats (limited to 10 individuals) and make tie blankets.

Registration begins at 8:30am; activities begin around 9:00am. Lunch will be served after packing is completed. Time listed to end at 1:00pm is an approximation.
