Boone David Hoopes
September 12, 2014 – November 22, 2025

Our beloved Boone David Hoopes passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 22, 2025, after a courageous six-year battle with cancer. In his 11 years, Boone lived with incredible bravery, a bright sense of humor, and a vibrant spirit that touched everyone who knew him.

Boone was a proud big brother to Trapper Douglas and River Rain, who meant the absolute world to him. He protected them, encouraged them, and loved them with his whole heart. Their bond was deep, playful, and unbreakable — a connection that will carry them for the rest of their lives.

Boone loved video gaming and was especially proud of his gaming “setup,” which he talked about with excitement to anyone who would listen. He adored making TikToks, always dancing, laughing, or showing off his latest trick shot, and he often said he wanted to be famous one day. His favorite meals were breakfast and chicken with biscuits and gravy — two things that always made him smile.

He was a boy of many talents. Whether he was pitching in the championship game to help lead his team through, swimming, or riding his four-wheeler as fast as he could, Boone embraced everything with joy and confidence. He loved playing with his dog, Buddy, hanging with his best friends, and dominating a good game of Monopoly.

Boone was a true social butterfly. He had a gift for making people smile, even on his hardest days. One of the many examples of his huge heart was when he surprised his hospital buddy — who loved pickles — by showing up on Halloween dressed in a full pickle costume, just to brighten his day.

He also had a deep love for the outdoors. Boone enjoyed hunting and fishing, and he was especially proud of his hunt of a lifetime in Mississippi, where he harvested his axis buck. He was also fortunate enough to bag a bear in Virginia, a memory he carried with great pride.

Boone was preceded in death by two very special people to him: his grandmother, Deb “Gaga” Hoopes, and his great-grandfather, Floyd “Pop Gray,” whose love and influence shaped his life in beautiful ways.

Boone is survived by his parents, Christopher and Brooklyn Hoopes; his brother and sister, Trapper Douglas and River Rain; his maternal grandparents, Douglas and Tracee Brown of Hanoverton; his paternal grandfather, David Hoopes of Carrollton; and his great-grandmother, Marilyn Hoopes of Minerva.

He is also survived by his aunt Tia and uncle Tom Poling of Kensington; his uncle Ty and aunt Sierra Brown of Louisville; his uncle Matt Hoopes of Minerva; and his cousins Lance, Ayden, Peyton, Rylan, Jettson, GiGi, and a new baby cousin on the way — a little one Boone was excited to meet.

We would like to extend a heartfelt and special thank-you to the incredible teams of Cleveland Clinic M50 and M53. They always took such exceptional care of Boone and did everything in their power for him. Without their dedication, compassion, and skill, we would not have had as much time as we did. They gave us hope, encouragement, and unwavering support throughout his entire journey.

We are absolutely devastated by this loss. Boone was light, comfort, courage, and laughter — all wrapped into one incredible boy. We will continue to live for Boone, to honor him, and to cherish his memory every single day.

A final message from Boone:
“Thank you to everyone that has loved and supported me through this journey. That’s it… bye.”
